Day 1 Buenos Aires. Reception at the Buenos Aires’ international Airport and transfer to the hotel. in the afternoon, city tour passing by some of the most interesting spots Plaza de Mayo, Goverment’s house, Cabildo (City hall), the Metropolitan Cathedral, Avenida de Mayo, Congress, Colón’s theatre, la Boca neighbourhood, Palermo, the Planetarium and la Recoleta. then, we make a short visit at the Popular Art’s Museum of Jose hernández that has been dedicated to collect, document, investigate, exhibit and promote the popular art. it has collections of many specialities and handcrafts (silverware, textiles, leather, glasses, basketry, poles and bones). Day 2 Buenos Aires / San Antonio de Areco. B L D early in the morning, transfer to san Antonio de Areco, a village located at 110 km(69 miles) from Buenos Aires and it is famous due to the conservation of the creole customs. in our way, we learn about one of the most popular traditions of the Argentinian people: the ‘mate’. this drink represents a language and code that are worth to share. As soon as we arrive at the historic quarter and beforeour first visit, we stop at some historic bars at the city where rural people used to socialize with city people. Many of these bars were stores and there is a lot of history over 200 years in their walls. After an aperitif, we visit the Gauchesco Ricardo Güiraldes Museum where we can appreciate the creole cultural heritage. it has seven exhibition halls, a recreation of the centery pulpería ‘la Blanqueada’ and objects that belonged to important characters of the Argentinian history. these buildings as well as the san Antonio de Padua Parochial Church, the Municipal intendence’s house and the old quarter of estancia la Porteña were declared National historic Monument. Return to the historic quarter for lunch and then we have time for a walk along the centric roads that are perfect for the Antique and silverware lovers. in the afternoon, we accommodate at a traditional estancia of san Antonio de Areco called ‘la Porteña’, built over 2 centuries ago and one of the oldest of the region. Day 3 San Antonio de Areco. B L D day at leisure to enjoy the activities the estancia offers. - tour around the historic quarter, Ricardo Güiraldes’ room and his

desk, named ‘el Rincón del Poeta’ (the Poet’s Corner). -Guided walks and horse rides through the estancia as well as the forest, to the Areco River, passing through different pastures with views to the agriculture. -Carriage rides. - show of creole skills. Day 4 San Antonio de Areco/ Buenos Aires. B L time at leisure to enjoy the estancia’s activities. After lunch, transfer to the airport to board on the scheduled flight. Operational notes: Day 1: Popular Art’s Museum of Jose hernandez closes on tuesdays. Day 3: if Ricardo Güiraldes’ room is booked, it will not be possible to visit his desk. the show of creole skills is during weekends and it is subject to weather conditions.
