ABOUT SPECTRUM LABS Spectrum Labs, Inc. is a private Company formed in 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Their purpose is to diagnose allergies in horses, cats and dogs via testing methodology, ELISA and modified- ELISA. They also manufacture individual, hypo-sensitization treatment sets in their U.S.D.A licensed facility – one of only 4 such facilities in the USA. In most cases, however, this is not possible. Steroid drugs are often used for short-term relief of symptoms, but prolonged use of steroids can have serious side effects. Hyposensitization is another alternative. In this case treatment sets are formulated based on the animal's allergy test results. Some allergies dissipate with time and treatment. In other cases animals may require continued allergy treatment to maintain tolerance to the allergens in question. With adherence to the treatment schedule, one can expect an excellent chance of elimination of or reduced dependence on steroid drugs. Improvement in most cases is seen after 3-5 months of treatment. Neither treatment option should be used seasonally. For best results treatment should be maintained year round.
