COSTA BLANCA SOUTH SUCCESS T is indisputable that some of the very best talents from around the world have settled on the Costa Blanca and have thrived, helping each other in so many different fields to grow and find success. One piece of research suggests that there are nearly 150 different nationalities on the Costa and although they may speak different languages, they all add to the cosmopolitan feel of the area, bringing new ideas as well as tried and tested concepts from their home countries to Spain. As others see that there is a particularly enjoyable lifestyle with rewards both financially and in private life for those who are prepared to commit to the area, so new blood which is essential to the ongoing success of the area is attracted. Even in politics, various councils are recognising the importance of non-Spanish residents and are appointing special council members to represent the interest of foreigners in the council chambers and now we are even seeing foreign born representatives being elected to different councils in a range of roles. Finally, the quality and choice of restaurants just keeps on growing and because of the number of different groups living in the Costa, so new styles of food are being introduced with a quality that has been hitherto unknown. Success breeds success and ‘incomers’ play a vital role in helping to make the Costa Blanca the exciting place that it is.

VER the years, there has been a huge number of estate agents who have been and gone. Most of them were highly successful during the real-estate boom which reached its peak in 2007, but not all survived the devastating crash which followed in 2008 and made it through to the start of the recovery in 2014. In fact, those who kept going with their reputation in tact were few and far between. Sunworld Estates is one of the survivors, and today is a thriving real-estate company which continues to grow while providing a comprehensive service for thousands of customers from the UK, Europe and further afield who are interested in buying or selling a property here on the Costa Blanca and on the Costa del Sol. Their success is attributed to the excellent reputation of Vic Cooper, founder of Sunworld Estates, who was and still is known for his honesty, reliability and trustworthiness. Unlike numerous property companies who were ruthless in their approach, Vic worked hard,

As a result, he sailed through the tough years and made many genuine friendships along the way. And this is the approach which the company still adheres to today, despite having increased both the number of offices and employees. Up until three years ago, Sun-

world Estates consisted of three staff; Vic, his daughter Jemma and Jemma’s fiancée, Adam. It was known for being a well-run, well-managed and friendly family-run business. Now, with 22 employees including Vic, his two daughters plus a son and daughter-in-law, it is still regarded in the same way. Luckily they all get on and this closeness and friendly, family atmosphere transcends the whole company. Everyone is relaxed, happy in their job and

genuinely enjoy going to work. As Richard Branson said, ‘Happy employees, equal happy customers.’ More recently, Sunworld Estates developed in other ways. They have taken over the popular Comaskey property company in La Zenia and opened a second office in La Fuente. Not only this, but with a new marketing specialist business partner, the company is able to promote itself and the properties on their books on a larger scale.

A fashion giant W HEN it comes to billionaire success stories, Spain has its very own to rival any in the world. From opening his first Zara store in 1975 with his wife Rosalía Mera, Amancio Ortega’s business has grown to dominate the world of fashion retail. His businesses now have around 92,000 employees worldwide, with stores in 94 countries and more opening each year. His business Inditex has made him phenomenally wealthy with Ortega currently worth around €53 billion on paper. With such popular brands as Zara, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius and Bershka, the company just keeps on growing. It recently launched Zara.com in India to give it a total of 46 different national online websites.

INTERNATIONAL: Zara’s store in Shanghai. Ortega himself was not born into wealth. The youngest of four children, he was born in Busdongo de Arbas, Leon, Spain, to Antonio Ortega Rodríguez and Josefa Gaona Hernández from the province of Valladolid. He left school and moved to A Coruña at the age of 14, due to the job of his father, a railway worker. Shortly after, he found a job as a shop hand for a local shirtmaker called Gala and

learned to make clothes by hand. In 1972, he founded Confecciones Goa to sell quilted bathrobes before opening Zara and starting his meteoric rise to becoming the wealthiest retailer in the world. President of Inditex Group Pablo Isola can only see continued growth and has confirmed the company is committed to social and environmental goals to ensure staff and customers are treated fairly.

Cyclogical Get on yer bike! G ARY and Lynn’s dream of moving away from the cold and bleak climate they were used to in the north of Scotland became a reality in August 2008, when they arrived in sunny Quesada on the Costa Blanca South and made it their home. It wasn’t long before they bought a small bicycle sales and repairs shop and set up their own businesses - less than a month, in fact! Cyclogical has been trading since September 1, 2008 and is now one of the most well-known businesses in the bicycle repairs, sales and rentals sector. As you can probably imagine, Gary and Lynn have not sat down for long and after three years of hard work, determination and extensive hours, they were able to expand their business in other directions, move into a larger premises just 200 metres from their original location, start up various cycling groups for all abilities and create their own custom-build cycle

superstore and workshop. In 2011, Cyclogical became the main agents in Spain for Raleigh and Claud Butler cycles, Oxford products and Tenn outdoor clothing. Their main range of bikes include Pinarello road bikes, Brinke E-Bikes and La Pierre mountain bikes and they also stock a large range of accessories from Shimano, Spiuk, Gaerne, Sigma, Uvex, Schwalbe, Continental and Michelin. If what you’re looking for isn’t in stock, not to worry as Cyclogical just require a few days to get it for you. One of the reasons that Cyclogical is so successful is because both Lynne and

PASSION: Gary and Lynn love sharing their passion for cycling with other enthusiasts on the Costa Blanca. Gary are passionate about what they do. Gary has a background in the leisure industry. He ran the largest leisure centre in the north of Scotland for 20 years while also finding time to qualify as a Shotokan karate instructor, a spinning instructor, a mountain leader and form part of the RAF Regiment Reserves. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he also used to buy, repair and sell second-hand bicycles and motorcycles as well.

Cyclogical Address: Calle Los Arcos, 7, Ciudad Quesada, 03170, Rojales, Alicante Open: Monday to Friday - 9.30am -5.30pm and Saturday - 10am - 2pm Tel: 637 487 377 Email: enquiries@cyclogicalcostablanca.com Web: www.cyclogicalcostablanca.com

Lynn, on the other hand, started her working life in the motor trade and then banking, but she knew that this wasn’t what she really wanted to do. She spent much of her time in the gym to improve her health and fitness, as this was something that was important to her and interested her a lot. Lynn attended spinning classes most days and has always been a keen cyclist, much preferring to cycle in the warm weather than in the cold and damp in Scotland. There are very few who have managed to turn their passion and hobby into their businesses, but Gary and Lynn have achieved exactly that and love the fact that they can share their passion for cycling, good health and fitness with everyone here on the Costa Blanca.

It also shows the tremendous successes enjoyed by expats and Spaniards over the years, many from humble backgrounds. They have proven with inspiration, persistence and hard work anything is possible. Beds & Sofas ONE of the characteristics of a successful business is being an expert in your field. And when it comes to beds, sofas and mattresses, there’s no one better than Beds & Sofas in La Zenia. James and Isabel began their business in 2003 under the name of Changing Rooms many people will no doubt recognise the name. Since then their business has evolved and they now have two shops in the same street and have been operating as Beds & Sofas since 2010. It is important and essential that you are comfortable in your own home and as probably the most time spent at home is either in your bed or on your sofa, you need to make sure you pick the piece that is most suited to your needs. An uncomfortable bed could be disastrous in terms of your quality of sleep and choosing the right pillows and mattress is essential for a good night’s

sleep that will leave you feeling energised and refreshed in the morning. In fact, sleeping on the wrong type of mattress can cause or worsen lower back pain. A mattress that is lacking in support reinforces a poor sleeping posture, strains muscles and does not help keep the spine in alignment, all of which contribute to low back pain. At Beds & Sofas, there is a huge range of different types of beds, sofa beds, pillows and mattresses as well as headboards, duvets, cushions, curtains, sheets, blinds and other bedroom essentials, all at very affordable prices. There are bonnell spring and pocket-sprung mattresses, plus memory-foam toppers and mattresses as well. If you’re in any doubt as to which type of mattress would be best suited to you, pop in and visit James at the store and he will be more than happy to advise and share

his expert knowledge with you. Unlike many other suppliers, Beds & Sofas will cut your chosen mattress or headboard to size, whether you require the item for your home, caravan or boat. And as a leading manufacturer, once you have placed your order, you will receive your delivery in a matter of days, even hours if you’re extremely lucky. Beds & Sofas is able to offer the fastest delivery on the Costa Blanca, which is particularly ideal for those people that do not live here permanently. They even deliver free of charge to all homes located within a 25-kilometre radius. And that also goes for their wide range of sofas, chaiselongues, bunk beds, reclining chairs, corner units and lift-up storage beds as well. Remember, if it’s a bed or sofa that you need, make sure you go to Beds & Sofas. You won’t be disappointed.

PURE COMFORT: Beds & Sofas are your local experts in everything bed and sofa-related. Beds & Sofas Calle Maestro Torralba, Local 3 and 9, Centro Comercial Zeniamar, 03189, La Zenia, Orihuela Costa, Alicante Tel: 966 773 250 Email: bedsysofas@gmail.com • Facebook: Beds Sofas Spain

MAVERICKS: Richard Branson and the late Steve Jobs.

Being a success

F

OR some people running a business gives a sense of pride, as well as a degree of freedom. Surviving another day, another month, another year can give you a real buzz. A buzz you can only appreciate when you’ve done it, and felt it. For others, the business is more of a lifestyle, allowing a level of freedom that being an employee can

never provide. Perhaps this type of business is ideal for life’s mavericks, those who don’t conform in the usual way. People who think outside the box that so many of us prefer to stay in. Elliroma Gardner, an organisational psychologist at the London School of Economics and Political Science, found that employees with maverick personalities could be secret weapons for making

businesses successful. Mavericks include the likes of Richard Branson and the late Steve Jobs. Risk takers, philanthropists, innovators who are always looking at things from a different angle. If you want to be a business success, whether that means financial success or some other type of lifestyle success, then being an entrepreneur may be the road for you.

Advertising Feature THERE are many factors that can contribute to making a business successful. Passion, expertise, great teamwork and a positive attitude are just a few. It may take a while for these things to become apparent, but occasionally you will enter a business and instantly know you’ve come to the right place. And that’s how it is at Campoamor Marine Centre - everyone is busy yet the atmosphere is relaxed; the customer’s needs are paramount and no job is too big or too small; the service is professional yet you feel like you’re chatting with old friends; and to top it all off you’re in one of the most beautiful natural spots on the Costa Blanca. Located in the heart of the marina at Dehesa de Campoamor, the team at Campoamor Marine Centre are hard at work doing what they love to ensure that each and every one of their clients is happy. Whether it’s buying or selling a boat (both new and resale are available), undertaking electrical or mechanical repairs, rebuilding or registering a boat, antifouling, painting, upholstering or polishing or supplying cus-

tomers with items from their chandlery, everything boat-related is taken care of at Campoamor Marine Centre. What is more, the customer is always kept continually informed of progress on the work carried

out on their boat, with emails, photos, WhatsApp and phone calls, ensuring them that their boat is in the best hands. This is why in just four years, the company has not only moved to a new premise almost

10 times the size, it has also built up a loyal customer base, is highly recommended in the boating community and even attracts boat owners from other areas including as far up as Alicante and Santa Pola or Los Al-

cázares and La Manga in the other direction. Campoamor Marine Centre is one of the very few boat centres that can do everything rather than specialising in just one area. The company has several multilingual staff meaning they can cater to customers of other nationalities including the Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Scandinavian and Russian as well as the British, of course. This family-run business is led by Lynden at the helm. Lynden is a qualified engineer with over 25 years’ experience and there isn’t anything that he doesn’t know when it comes to boats and fixing them. His talented team includes Darren, also with over 20 years’ marine experience; Regan, a keen young marine mechanic, Atom, who has over 30 years’ experience as an automotive finishing technician having worked on Ferraris and Aston Martins, plus Marcel, who is eagerly learning under Atom’s wing. And the customer’s first port of call when contacting the company by phone, email or in person, is Helen, who is highly efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.

BUSINESS IMPERATIVE: Take a chance if you want to grow.

Risk and reward

F

ROM when we are very small children we begin learning lessons about risk. Whether it is touching something hot when we have been told not to or sneaking a treat we should not have while our parents were not looking, we soon find out which risks are worth taking and which end badly. Later in life we are often given mixed messages about risk; on the one hand told it is difficult to succeed without taking chances, and on the other that

‘slow and steady wins the race.’ So which is correct for success? According to business website En trepreneur.com, not taking chances could actually be the surest way not to grow, particularly in business. It explains: “Many entrepreneurs will finally pull the trigger on their business - the biggest risk they've ever taken - and then want to play it safe. That’s how many businesses stagnate. To grow your business you have to go chase opportunities, and every opportunity comes with a level of risk.”

HAT constitutes a successful business? If anyone should know, it’s the team at Piscimar Pool. They have been running a thriving swimming-pool design, construction and maintenance business for the last 37 years. Located in La Regia on the Orihuela Costa and established in 1982, what started out as a modest pool firm set up and managed by two founding members is now one of the leading companies for everything related to the design, construction and maintenance of pools, Jacuzzis and spas. Almost four decades ago, Alfonso Martínez, one of the founding members of Piscimar Pools, had a clear objective of what he wanted to achieve - that objective was to become a specialist in all things related to swimming pools and a reference company that others look up to. Today, nobody can deny the prestige and excellent reputation Piscimar Pool has attained, and the sheer quantity and quality of testimonials applauding their work is confirmation of that. As well as having clear objectives about the direction of the business, the team at Piscimar Pool know that their success is driven by the need to be consistent in continually carrying out faultless workmanship to the highest standard

We buy, we sell, we share IN today’s modern world, life moves at a very fast pace. Some might say too fast. The Internet and digital technology have enabled us to gain access to information and communicate within seconds, make reservations and purchases in an instant and get tasks done quicker than ever before, but there is a cost. Savouring the moment, appreciating the simple things and creating strong relationships built on trust and honesty are lost. Unfortunately, the majority of people are oblivious to this. However, there are those who understand the value of taking one’s time, doing things properly and focusing on their craft. Their motivation is the passion for what they do and the immense feeling of satisfaction in the knowledge that they have done and provided their best for their customers. And the customers will recognise this, value it and return time and time again. This is how to build a suc-

cessful business. At Gold Rush in La Zenia Boulevard, owner and expert jeweller Cesar Ripanu knows this. He has not been swayed to cut corners or to compromise in any way. He is successful because he is honest, trustworthy and his motivation is not money but a passion that he loves to share with everyone he meets. It’s very easy these days to buy a piece of jewellery online, you can do it in minutes. But do you really know what you’re buying? Are you certain that what you will receive is the same as what you’ve seen online? Do you know the history of your purchase, its previous owner, where the item was made and by whom? Where’s the pleasure in pressing a button and receiving your purchase in the post? At Gold Rush you can rest assured in the knowledge that what you’re buying is the real deal. Cesar buys directly from the owner, they are people he

knows and his expertise in gold, diamonds and precious stones will guarantee you a quality piece. And even sellers seek him out because they know they will get an honest opinion and a fair price. But after making the decision to pack up in their own countries and move to Spain, is there anything expatriates can do to ensure a successful transition and retirement in Spain? According to moving company Globexs, ways to ensure maximum quality of life include hunting around for a property in a location you love but one that is not necessarily the most expensive. The experts say this will help keep initial homebuying costs down and could also keep the cost of living down if you live nearer to independent or smaller bars and restaurants. OR many years Hollywood led the way when it came to cinema, with many major studios, actors and directors hailing from across the pond. While Spain has always had its fair share of creative talent Pablo Picasso, Federico Garcia Lorca, Miguel de Cervantes with Pedro Almodovar came Spain’s fame for its directorial and cinematic talents. The Ciudad Real-born director, screenwriter and producer came of age during ‘La Movida Madrileña,’ Spain’s artistic renaissance after the end of the Franco era. After establishing his own production company in 1986, Almodovar went on to achieve international recognition for his film ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,’ which was nomi-

nated for an Oscar in 1988. Since then, he has won two Academy Awards, one for ‘All about My Mother’ in 1999 and ‘Talk to Her’ in 2002, for which he won Best Original Screenplay. His new film, ‘Dolor y Gloria’ (Pain and Glory), starring Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas is due to be released in Spanish cinemas on March 22.

NEW RELEASE: Almodovar’s next film stars Penelope Cruz (inset).

Casas Manuel WHEN you’ve been in business since 2001, survived the recession, opened a further two offices, raised three children, have six grandchildren and still found time to organise countless events for charity and star in a reality show on Channel 4, you know you’ve done something right! In a very small nutshell, that’s the story of Casas Manuel, the well-established family-run estate agents who have offices in Benijofar, La Zenia and Los Alcázares. Manuel Rodríguez, head of the family, founded Casas Manuel and opened the first of the three offices in Benijofar almost 20 years ago. Although originally from Javea, Manuel had been living in the UK for 25 years, where he met his wife Linda, co-owner of the company. On spotting an opportunity, they left the UK and moved to the Costa Blanca to start their new business and new life in the sunshine.

It wasn’t long before they were joined by daughter Sophie, after completing her degree in International Business, and her husband, Damon, with both taking up positions in the Benijofar office. In life you have to take risks, and with his family behind him that’s what Manuel did when he decided to open up their second office in La Zenia during the recession and after the real-estate crash. However, known for their honesty, hard work, transparency, knowledge and good work ethics, this wasn’t a problem for Casas Manuel and their second office, now headed by youngest daughter Charlotte, was also a huge success. Through their reliable and professional approach to business, the team has created many strong relationships throughout Spain, UK, Belgium, France, Iceland, Sweden, Russia, Norway, Czech Republic and Holland and they pride themselves on delivering a personal and pro-

For this reason, they don’t need to try and sell themselves with cleverly created marketing quotes to attract business, their ethos is, ‘There is no sales pitch. We’re just good at what we do, we’re busy and we’re honest.’ And, if you’re in any doubt, how many businesses do you know that would agree to taking part in a reality show on UK television that involves filming and

being followed around by cameras for six months of the year? If you want to get to know the Casas Manuel family, you can watch them on Channel 4’s Sun, Sea and Selling Houses, 25 episodes aired over five weeks. They are already on their third series! A powerful message

W

HAT comes to mind when you think of a diamond? Perhaps it is expensive jewellery sets, engagement rings, or a sense of long-lasting quality. This image, shared around the world, is precisely the one intended by one of the most successful advertising campaigns of all times; the De Beers 1948 ‘A Diamond is Forever’ campaign. This example of the power of successful advertising has shaped the way entire generations have viewed diamonds, making them the stone of

choice to symbolise romantic love. Other companies have since learned the importance of language in creating a memorable message, including the long-running ‘Got Milk?’ campaign run by the California Milk Processor Board from 1993 onwards. Those two words became common parlance in the United States, in much the same way that sports brand Nike is associated with the phrase, ‘Just Do It.’ All three messages hit their mark, with Nike’s annual sales topping €1.68 billion in 2018, while De Beers was €5.18 billion in 2017.

Helpful habits

W

E may often assume that success is the result of hard work, attention to detail and long hours. But it seems that some of the world’s most successful people have in common a series of habits which might hold a clue to what it takes to get ahead. One such custom is getting up early. Entrepreneurs such as Gordon Ramsay and Apple CEO Tim Cook are both said to be early risers, with Cook even setting his alarm for 3.45am each morning. Early bird enthusiasts claim the practice allows them to pack more into each day, as well as taking advantage of a time when they are naturally more alert to do their best work. Another habit recommended by Ramsay, and similarly shared by many other successful people, is exercise. The chef is well-known for his love of fitness, running multiple marathons around the world. Meanwhile, former GORDON RAMSAY: US president Barack ObaThe chef credits ma was also said to be an exercise buff, regularly still rising early and playing full games of basstaying fit for his ketball between meetings success. at the White House.

Society Law & Titles - Your one-stop legal-advice shop

W

ith Brexit practically on our doorstep and the terms and conditions still very much unclear, UK nationals living in Spain are making a mad rush to try and get their legal affairs in order. Anyone that doesn’t speak good Spanish and who lacks detailed, up-to-date knowledge of exactly what is required in terms of paperwork, documentation and all the various procedures, will find it extremely difficult to make head or tail of what they need to do. It is a very worrying time for many and has already resulted in people selling up, giving up their life in the sun and returning home, feeling that there is no other option for them. But it doesn’t have to be this way and by just taking the time to see a specialist that will be able to correctly advise you of the best way forward, months of

worry and stress could disappear within minutes. And who better to visit than Daran and Ann at Society Law & Titles? They will listen to your concerns and then arrange a meeting with the correct specialist for your personal situation, also ensuring that one of their inhouse, multilingual translators is present, which is all part of the service. And this is why Society Law & Titles is different from most other lawyers. Being UK nationals themselves, they too faced similar circumstances when they first moved to Spain more than 30 years ago. Having experienced the same worries and levels of stress, they completely

understood exactly what type of help was needed, although back then this type of help wasn’t available. Fast forward 25 years and working all that time for other companies in the area within the legal system, Ann and Daran

found themselves employed by the same company and began working together. With both having worked in the legal field for so many years and with the same idea of how the legal service for expatriates could be improved, this was the beginning of Society Law & Titles. The first office was set up in

Society Law & Titles Centro Comercial Los Dolses, Local 130, Villamartin, 03189, Orihuela Costa Calle Francisco de Quevedo, Local 9, La Marina, 03177, Alicante Tel: 965 02 16 51 • Email: info@societylawandtitles.com • Web: www.societylawandtitles.com

the Los Dolses Commercial Centre and has been running successfully for almost three years. Instead of employing one lawyer to do everything, Society Law & Titles employs a number of different lawyers, tax advisers and technicians, each specialising in one area in particular. That way, clients are then placed with the lawyer and interpreter best suited to them. And, this method has been so successful that most of their clients come to them for all their legal issues and to ensure that all their friends do as well.

CATCHING UP: Successful friendships offer various health benefits.

It’s good to talk

A

CCORDING to scientists, successful friendships can have a positive aspect on our health, helping to prevent everything from depression and high blood pressure to obesity. But as we get older, becoming busier with work and family or even moving to another country, it can sometimes seem a challenge to start all over again and make new friends. Is there a key therefore to securing new friendships or strengthening our existing ones, even across countries?

While it can sometimes seem daunting to meet new people if you are new to a place, one way to tackle this issue is by joining a club or group centred on something you really enjoy. The focus on an activity takes the pressure off conversation, while you increase your chance of meeting like-minded people by picking something you are passionate about. Spain offers a multitude of opportunities to try something new from conversational language classes to cooking, photography, paddle boarding, hiking, or travel groups.

And with a name like Silverstones Bar & Bistro, the unique selling point of this establishment is advertised loud and clear. Established on March 1, 2018, Silverstones recently celebrated its first anniversary with a generous crowd of happy customers and loyal well-wishers, not to mention a whole day of fantastic live entertainment, cava and a never-ending supply of taster dishes promoting their new menu – which is on their website. Many are those whose one and only dream in life is to turn their hobby and passion into their work through which they can earn an income. Vince and Lisa, the owners of Silverstones Bar and Bistro, originally come from Northampton, home to Silverstone Circuit. This allowed them to spend almost every weekend at the track, attending races and special events and being avid followers and fans of the sport. Lisa’s husband, Vince, was so passionate about Formula 1 that over the years he built up a stunning and very impressive collection of memorabilia, including motorbike helmets, autographed clothing, miniature replicas of the best racing cars, posters, tickets and even a Vespa, which, of course, are all proudly on display in the bar and restaurant.

When the couple decided to relocate to Spain just two years’ ago, they did so with the vision of living a quiet and relaxing life in the sun. They had absolutely no intention of setting up a bar and bistro, nor any other type of business for that matter, until they arrived at their new home and were faced with the logistical problem of where to put the contents of Vince’s massive Formula 1 collection. So, that’s how Silverstones Bar & Bistro came to be and, what’s more, now hundreds of customers can admire Vince’s Formula 1 memorabilia instead of friends and family that visit their home! The couple bought the premises next door as well to fit everything in, although that has also worked out well as the upper part of Silverstones Bar & Bistro has been turned into a separate, more secluded dining area, away from the livelier bar area. There is even a pianist who delights diners during Sunday lunch. With an extensive open terrace and a children’s play area, Silverstones really does cater to everyone - even vegans! They have a fantastic chef who has created an extensive menu of fine, international cuisine. And, if you’re looking for somewhere for live entertainment, Silverstones has some great entertainers at the weekends, and you can take advantage of their courtesy mini bus service. The best in property sales, rentals and management WHEN purchasing or selling a property it is essential that you choose the right estate agent for you - one that listens to their clients, wants the best for their clients and works hard to turn the client’s dreams into reality. Vistacasas, located on the ground floor of Villamartin Plaza, is one such business. This estate agent has built up a solid and distinguished reputation and is known for its friendly approach, utmost professionalism and healthy attitude to hard work. One perfect example of their ability to succeed is the recent introduction of their new, dedicated Property Rental and Management Department, which, as they predicted, has turned out to be a huge success. In fact, it has taken off much quicker than they first envisaged! They have had a huge uptake from existing and new clients, many of whom prefer to deal

Many buyers are interested in real estate as an investment, so buying a property through Vistacasas who then manage it and rent it out is perfect for them. And it must be noted that the lettings industry in Spain is going through some big changes with new legislations recently being introduced. For this reason, it is essential that you work

with an informed and professional managing agent that advises you correctly to ensure that you are legally compliant as a landlord. You can also contact Vistacasas if you’re looking to sell. After the best January on record for property sales, Vistacasas is getting ready for a busy year. In just a few weeks, Villamartin Plaza will be a hive of activity once the music schedule begins, bringing with it thousands

of potential buyers to the square as they make their way to the bars, restaurants and shops which are popular for both residents and tourists alike; and that means, quite simply, that they’re looking at your property on display. The bright LED lights that show off the properties in the Vistacasas windows offer maximum impact and exposure at all times of the day and night. What more could you want? VP Advisers THE tax and legal systems in Spain are complicated enough even for the simplest of matters, which is why for important issues related to the legalities of living and working in Spain, it’s always best to engage the services of a qualified professional. VP Advisers was originally set up in 2010 and over the years the company has helped hundreds of residents and non-residents with all their legal and tax issues. David Valero and Fernando Pertusa lead the staff to form an expert team of fully trained professional economists and lawyers who are able to assist and advise on a wide range of matters including tax management, business accountancy, conveyancing and wills from their modern office in La Mosca Commercial Centre, Playa Flamenca. VP Advisers like to solve problems and believe in charging an economical price for their services, which is why they have special offers on some of the most popular and sought-after procedures. For example, their clients will be able to register as self-employed for free and benefit from economical prices for conveyanc-

ing, driving licence exchanges and other types of road management issues. There is never any middle man involved so you can rest assured that if you have a concern or question, one of the qualified members of staff will be able to assist you. As all professional businesses should be, VP Advisers is always up-todate with the ever-changing laws, rules and regulations in Spain and will therefore always make sure that you are informed and up-to-date too. If you take the services of VP Advisers, there are no registration fees to pay and the company likes to help its clients by offering its services on a low-price policy, thus giving the best value for money around. “We started in the height of the economic crisis,” said economist and owner David Valero, “so a lot of people were going through changes in their situation and our ethos was giving the correct legal advice for their situation and if they went on to use our services, we wanted to offer the best value possible.” As a result, VP Advisers have hundreds of happy customers who use them for all their legal and fiscal needs.
