A GROUP of friends of Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar, recently went on a day trip to Guadix, which is about 50 km away from Granada. It is a fascinating place where al most half its inhabitants live underground in a large troglodyte district. On arrival, the group met the guide and got on the tourist train that would take them to the cave houses. The train wound its way through the narrow streets whilst the passengers listened to a commentary about the history of the area. They visited the Ermita de Gracia cave church, which had a beautiful display of nativity scenes from around the world; the cave museum, a treasure trove of how life was in days gone by; the spectacular Mirador de la Magdalena viewpoint; two cave houses and the cathedral. They had plenty of free time before the return jour ney to Torre del Mar. A most enjoyable day was had by all and Lux Mundi would like to thank all who supported the excursion, which will en able them to continue their charitable work.

FESTIVAL goers returning from Castellon’s Arenal Sound were allegedly forced to stay on a bus in 40 degree heat with no air conditioning, as reported on Wednesday, August 10. One of the festival goers recounted the experience of the hellish bus ride on her Twitter account stating: The situation we experi enced yesterday was outra geous, while returning from the @ArenalSound on one of their official buses to Ali cante.”Shecontinued:“Thebusstarted and the air was still not working, reaching close to 40º. At this point many of us who were inside asked to get off… we could not stay for three more hours in that situation. “People got off the bus with many experiencing anxi ety attacks, crying, dizzy and very hot. Some people even had a fever and/or vomited. “The ambulances arrived and helped us and later we were relocated in several buses of the same company which had more than enough space, which could have been changed at the moment it was known that the air conditioning was not working.“Thehealth of many peo ple has been put at risk, it is shameful that we are being taken for a ride and it is more than clear that they have done it because we are a group of young people who were returning from party ing, but the truth is that no body can endure three hours in a bus at 37 degrees and without air conditioning.”

ACCORDING to the Spanish National Police in the province of A Coruña, a man was arrested for his alleged in volvement in the crimes of il licit manufacture and posses sion of weapons. In two searches carried out, a practically finished AR9 sub machine gun, assembled with 3D printed parts was seized, together with other parts of small firearms that were also printed, a number of illegal weapons and a total of three printers. SHAKESPEAR E’S Globe Theatre is opening a pro duction of I, Joan on Thurs day August 25 depicting the historical icon Joan of Arc as nonbinary. The pronouns used in the production will be ‘they’ and ‘them’, a UK media source confirmed on Thurs day, August 11. Joan of Arc was a peasant in medieval France.Shebelieved that God had chosen her to lead France to victory in its longrunning war with England. Charles of Valois allowed her to lead a French army to the city of Orleans, where they achieved a stunning victory. Frank Furedi, an emeritus profes sor of sociology at the Uni versity of Kent, said: “Play wrights are allowed to have a bit of poetic licence but I think what is interest ing about the play is that it very much falls in with the idea of rewriting history. “Someone like Joan of Arc would not have any idea what nonbinary was. It is a recharacterisation of something that did not even exist at the time. “It completely violates the meaning of history, it’s the projecting of a fantasy backwards.“ForFrench patriots, Joan of Arc is someone very special. Her role was all the more heroic because she was a woman.”
The headmaster of Southend High School for Boys in Essex, Doctor Robin Bevan, said: “If a fourday week is not already being planned, it will certainly be being considered by some schools. “In the absence of long overdue aboveinfla tion investment in school funding, it’ll become a realistic prospect sooner rather than later.”
UK headteachers say they are struggling to deal with escalating energy costs and are con sidering all options to help their budgets.

GERMAN chancellor, Olaf Scholz, during a twohour press conference on Thursday, Au gust 11, recalled a project from the past that he now regrets not having built. He spoke of a gas pipeline that had been proposed, that would pass through Portugal and Spain via France, before eventually reaching Germany. The chancellor is only too aware of the delicate situation that Germany faces in the coming months. He suggested that he needs to speak with his “colleagues in Spain and Portugal, with the French president, and the president of the European Commission, so that we tackle such a project.”

THE government of Italy is taking legal action against Slovenia in a dispute over its famous bal samic vinegar. Tensions between the two coun tries have been rising since last year, when Slove nia announced its intention to ‘standardise’ its production of vinegar, which would involve mar keting any type of vinegar mixed with concentrat ed fruit juice as ‘balsamic vinegar’. Since 2009, the term aceto balsamico di Mode na (balsamic vinegar of Modena) may only be used by producers in the Modena and the EmiliaRomagna region of Italy. “After months of waiting and worrying, we fi nally see a glimmer of light,” said Mariangela Grosoli, the president of the consortium for the protection of balsamic vinegar of Modena, on Tuesday August 9. However, Italy lost a legal battle of a similar na ture against a German company in 2019, when the European Court of Justice ruled that only ace to balsamico di Modena is a geographicallypro tected trademark, but the noun aceto and the ad jective balsamico can be used freely.

IN an exclusive interview with the Euro Weekly News, Down to Earth CEO Jonathan Patarkatsi spoke on his company’s humble beginnings, driven with a mission and a purpose from the onset, and his subse quent trademark lawsuit with Netflix’s TV series Down to Earth, starring Zac Efron.Founded in 2017, Down to Earth is a health focused, wellness lifestyle brand that includes an ice tea line, fruit and nut snacks, apparel merchandise, as well as a free wellness podcast that’s available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music and on their website.“Westarted very organi cally and with limited re sources, but we immediate ly filed for trademarks, the names we knew we would be using in commerce, the typical legal protocol in both the US and many other countries,” stated CEO Jonathan Patarkatsi. “This was done initially for our beverage, food and apparel line and then when we decided to launch our podcast in 2020, we applied for all of the necessary trademarks.”Onceagain Down to Earth successfully registered their trademarks in April 2020, when just at the end of July 2020, Netflix dropped a trailer for a new TV series al so named ‘Down to Earth’ starring Zac Efron, focusing on similar topics to Patarkatsi’s company. “This led to a lot of confu sion, a lot of customers reached out to us not know ing whether or not we were affiliated with the show, or if they had infringed on our trademark or vice versa,” stated Patarkatsi. His company attempted to clear up the confusion, sending Zac Efron, his team and everyone at Netflix a cease and desist letter, noti fying them of the trademark infringement.According to Patarkatsi the letter was rejected, and his company received a “very belittling response,” leaving them no choice but to file a lawsuit. “A company like Netflix has a huge legal team, so when you see companies with the resources to do things as they are supposed to be done and they choose not to, in my opinion, it is extremely disrespectful to the legal system and the world at large,” stated the Down to Earth CEO. “When corporations and public figures who have the resources and the means to follow legal protocol choose not to, this signifies a “rules for thee and not for me atti tude,” and ends up hurting hardworking en trepreneurs and small busi ness owners who do things the right way and make the necessary investments to follow legal protocol,” he continued.Inaddition Netflix’s TV se ries ‘Down to Earth’ did a collaboration with Nature Valley, an American compa ny renowned for its nut bars, which according to Jonathan Patarkatsi consti tutes a second infringement on his company’s trade mark. Patarkatsi said that these infringements have been incredibly damaging for his company, as they have led to a lot of confu sion among “Regardlessconsumers.ofhowlong it takes and how many chal lenges come up, we are go ing to see this through to the end, and we hope that by doing this, smaller com panies that might also be bullied by corporations or public figures will be in spired to stick to what they believe in and defend their companies,” concluded Patarkatsi.Tolearn more about Down to Earth and their mission to provide any and everyone access to healthy products and to listen to their wide selection of 68 completely free health and lifestyle podcasts visit: com/mission.https://drinkdowntoearth.

INDIAN travellers to Europe ob tain the fastest Schengen visas from Spain according to a report in the Indian press. Once considered to be riddled with bureaucracy, it appears that the Spanish authorities in India are much more reliable than their European Union counterparts as they are much quicker in offering appoint ments and also actually issue the visas in a much shorter peri od of time once approved. Technically, it is illegal to go ‘visa shopping’ but it is to the benefit of the Spanish economy to encourage Indians to travel via Spain even if Indian trav ellers only stop overnight in the country and then move on to other Schengen countries. After the pandemic situation eased and on March 27, 2022 In dia allowed international flights, a pentup demand for both busi ness and tourist travel to Europe exploded and according to re ports, it can take up to 10 weeks to obtain a Schengen visa for some countries whilst Spain (and also Greece) often take just a week.Currently one of the longest waits is for entry to Germany but this is because it is one of the most in demand countries that Indians want to visit and there seems to be insufficient staff to carry out initial inter views. It isn’t just Schengen countries causing the problems as with so many students taking up places in the UK and USA, many Indians have had to amend their holiday plans to the benefit of countries like the Maldive Islands and United Arab Emirates which are much closer and easier to enter.

FORMER civil servant and now chair of John Lewis, Dame Sharon White has said that the British gov ernment needs to encour age the unemployed over 50 to return to work. According to her, around one million people aged between 50 and 70 effectively retired during the pandemic and haven’t bothered to return, which means that they have helped to cause the short age in the number of expe rienced and trained staff available.Thisinturns means that employers are having to of fer higher wages in order to attract and retain staff which in turn encourages wage inflation which results in higher prices all round.
“Thus, in a quarter marked by the uncertainties of the economic consequences of the war, the data reflects an excellent trend with signifi cant job creation,” said Minis ter of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto. The growth occurred both among contracted employees (19.1 per cent) and the selfemployed (7.9 per cent) across all tourist activities, with a breakdown of hospital ity up 18.5 per cent, as well as accommodation services 54.4 per cent, travel agencies 12.6 per cent and passenger trans port 7.4 per Consequently, cent. the number of unemployed in this particu lar sector has been dropping significantly over the past five quarters and now stands at a much lower figure than in 2019 with employment up in the majority of autonomous provinces with the exception of La Rioja, Ceuta and Melilla, Asturias and Extremadura. There are considerably more permanent contracts with an increase of 19.5 per cent year on year, although there are still a significant number of people employed on temporary contracts due to the fact that tourism is cur rently so seasonal, although the Ministry of Tourism is en deavouring to attract visitors during the ‘quiet’ months.

SPANISH energy company Iberdrola has begun operations of the Francisco Pizarro solar photovoltaic (solar power) project in Extremadura. According to the company, the plant is the largest in Europe and one of its largest operations worldwide. Costing a reported €300 million to install, and em ploying some 1,500 people to construct (more than half from the local area), it will produce sufficient power to serve 334,000 homes and will prevent the emission of 150,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmo sphere each year. To guarantee its viability the company will supply 100 per cent re newable electricity from this plant to Danone, Bayer and PepsiCo to cover the energy needs of their centres in Spain.

INTERESTING to note, that despite the leftie media revelling in making the UK citizens feel shattered and de pressed and that energy rises and the cost of living are causing oppression and misery to just about everyone, you notice they are actually not mention ing a word on how their favourite Starmer led party would handle any of the(Althoughproblems.it probably won’t be long before they come up with some magi cal bunkum!). All these ordeals are not the fault of the present government; they are the responsibility of general world oppression. The shortages of gas and electricity are the indisputable lia bility of the Russians and its war with Ukraine.Thelack of rain and climate condi tions across Europe is nature control ling the tilt of planet earth as it has done for millions of years. What we al so need to remember is that we have also come through over two years of a worldwide pandemic, during which the UK government handed out bil lions to keep the people and the coun try running. Amazing to witness the present actions of many British work ers when you observe strikes from some who were paid thousands and granted furloughs to cover their in come, without actually having to work at Giveall. us a break. The attitude of liber als and lefties is a disgrace. An enor mous percentage of their supporters do of course include millions of immi grants, whose vast numbers have ru ined the NHS, created an impossible shortage of accommodation and bled the British economy dry. How wonderfully prosperous the UK would be if Labour had been prevent ed from its whole history of vote seek ing policies, including 1998 with their ‘fairer, faster and firmer immigration expansion centres and the inundated flood of benefits, introduced by Tony Blair and his crooked vote rigging cronies. If you’ve ever wondered which side of the fence you actually sit on, listen to these observations recent ly sent to me by a friend. If a Conservative doesn’t like guns he doesn’t buy one. If a liberal doesn’t like guns he wants all guns outlawed. If a Conservative is a vegetarian he doesn’t eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian he wants all meat products banned for everyone. If a Conservative is a down and out he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him. If a Conser vative doesn’t like a talk show host he switches channels, liberals demand those they don’t like be shut down. If a Conservative is a nonbeliever he does n’t go to church, a liberal wants any mention of God and Jesus silenced. If a Conservative decides he needs health care he goes shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it, liberals demand the rest of us pay for theirs! And on and on. I’ve always had a fairly right wing outlook, and always will. Be careful of the woke lefties. They’re out to crush us all. Keep the faith.Love

GERRIE, a 33yearold artist, says stopping drinking was not the end of her world just the end of the blackness and misery. Here is her story:“There wasn’t a great deal of al cohol around when I was growing up we would have it at family parties, or celebrations but it was fun, and I never saw it being abused.Ican’t really pinpoint when it started being an issue. I think I have always known alcohol was a problem for me, we didn’t mix well. I drank alcoholically from the word go. The first time I got drunk at about 15/16 years old, I trashed my bedroom, ripping down my curtains in a drunken rage. At the time I thought that was just the way it was this is what people did to have fun. I copied how I thought I should behave when drinking and invariably I ended up in trouble. Being sick, being carted off by ambulance. I put myself in danger on more than one occasion because of my drink ing but at the time I didn’t under stand or know what I was doing. My drinking really came to a head because of the lockdown, the loneliness I felt; and all the time I had to dwell on the horrible feelings I had about myself and life. For the first time ever, I was living alone. I didn’t have anyone to tell me to stop drinking or to make me accountable in any way, so every night I would drink to ex cess.My rock bottom came one evening, I decided to see how many Xanex tablets I could take without overdosing. Whilst check ing the dosage online I didn’t think to take into consideration the amount of alcohol I had drunk! Eventually I fell asleep, and thankfully I woke up the next day. This is when I knew I had to stop, it really scared me. Even though I thought life wasn’t worth living, there was still some part of me that didn’t want to die. I just want ed life to be better. I first heard of Alcoholics Anony mous (AA) a few years previously. I had contacted someone because I knew she was sober, and I was thinking it was time to try a differ ent way. She told me straight away she would take me to an AA meeting. My immediate reaction was one of astonishment and shock, I’m not an alcoholic why would I want to go there. Fast forward a couple more years and my sister sent me the number of someone else, again knowing he was sober but not knowing how he had got there. I called him, we met, chatted and this time when he said AA, I didn’t feel so astonished or upset, I just thought honestly what have I got to lose. I was lucky, I know Covid has been horrendous and that facetoface meetings stopped completely for a while, which for some people was terrible. But I think, had I not had the zoom meetings to begin with, I might not be here today. I was super nervous at the first meeting; I wouldn’t show my face on camera. Thankfully I was told to listen for the similarities and not the differences, and I was amazed to find that whilst not everybody’s story was like mine, they had the same feelings as me. The loneli ness, the isolation, the fear. When I made it into the facetoface meetings, the love I was given is like nothing else I have experi enced before. It feels like coming home and the friends that I have made… well they are my support, my sisters, my brothers, my fami ly. My biological family are hugely supportive now, but my journey with AA is something they (cur rently) don’t understand; or see as a lifelong process. Life now is in some ways very much the same (just better), but in others it is markedly different. I am in a completely different frame of mind, I am learning to create boundaries, to let go, to have patience, faith, and love. I am still learning every day about myself. Where my strengths are and where my weaknesses can be. It’s a journey. But from 16 months ago. I am less angry, less stressed, and less depressed. I’m present for my family and my friends. And that really is a bless ing.To anyone struggling with alco hol I would say, stopping drinking is not the end of the world just the end of the blackness and mis ery. Your life isn’t over, it is just be ginning. Be brave and take the first step, reach out for help and step into the light of AA.” Feature

Algeria of course is Spain’s largest supplier of natural gas and until the Morocco decision appeared to be quite happy to increase supply through existing direct pipelines to Spain, but for two months until the end of July it imposed trade restrictions on Spain due to its anger at the support for Morocco. So, we need gas for electricity, but we have to save electricity because things may not be as safe as we thought.
IN South Africa (SA), you can not hunt in the national re serves where photo tourists go. However, photo tourists want lots of animals, modern facilities, and pastimes. Their activities require huge investments in infrastructure and consume vast quantities of energy, carbon and water that deprive rural people and de stroy the environment, turning the natural bush into a glorified zoo. Even ‘nonhunted’ animals need culling but because of animal rights politics, it can’t be done. The Kruger Park has far too many elephants that it can safe ly carry, and is turning into a trashed elephant park at the cost of proper biodiversity. Quite separately, 40 million acres of remote, dry private farmland in SA is now used for hunting and raising 20 million wild animals in natural bush, because hunting, especially high value hunting brings in a slightly better farm income than cattle in a country where only 13 per cent is suitable for rainfed crops. These are not places where photo tourists go, and farmers could not recoup the investment needed in serv ing them. Those 40 million acres of bush support trillions of animals, birds and plants that are not hunted hence the con servationHowever, value.trophy hunting is very important a trophy hunter pays about 100 times more than an ecotourist, needs no infrastructure, and disrupts the general wildlife far less. Worse still, however, is that without trophy hunting, cattle would be more profitable the vast hunting grounds would be cleared of ALL wildlife and turned over to cattle or worse still, cleared of all vegeta tion as well and turned over to GM crops. Hunting animals might be abhorrent, but not hunting them might turn out worse.

ALL of the world’s authorities are demanding that we turn away from fossil fuel and rely on green energy. The internal combustion engine will be replaced by batteries in the majority of cars and in the not-too-distant fu ture, we will all have to plug our cars in to charge them, using even more electricity than now.
There is a certain irony in the fact that Spain has now decided that it can’t risk companies and employers using too much electricity to make their staff and customers more comfortable in times of extreme heat or cold weath er.Electricity prices have shot up in Spain and although the country doesn’t depend on Russian gas (it’s only Spain’s fourth largest supplier) which has hurt European neigh bours due to the invasion of Ukraine, it is still in a vulnera bleHavingposition.sat on the fence for decades over support for Mo rocco’s influence in the Sahara, it finally announced earlier this year that it was in favour of Morocco effectively gov erning what used to be a Spanish possession.
The government knew that Algeria has effectively bro ken off most relations with its neighbour and had closed the border as well as last year not renewing the gas pipe line agreement which supplied Morocco and Spain.

Most of them are from northern Europe, enjoying once again their annual holiday abroad in a sunny environment. Back home, they will have ac cess to social media and all the lat est gadgets. For those not de prived by inflation and poverty there seems to be instant gratifi cation. Everything is so easy at the touch of a switch or a keypad. So, what are their hobbies and inter ests? They will be very different from ours in the 50s. We had no pocket calculators, let alone personal computers or mobile phones. We had never heard of Microsoft, emails or Google, let alone Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. We kept up with friends and news by meeting them rather than through social media. Aged seven, I recall the excite ment of my first glimpse of the sea and the beach at Bognor Reg is. By then I was collecting postage stamps and, together with an at las, learning about other countries all over the world. The stamps in my albums colourfully depicted their natural features and resources. Butterflies and rubber from Malaya, giraffes and coffee from Tanganyika, tigers and tea from Ceylon, tou cans from Brazil and zebras from Bechuanaland.Therewasso much pleasure in this simple, popular pursuit; sav ing stamps from mail from abroad, buying them from a philatelist or swapping duplicates with friends and mounting them in Then, albums. from childhood to teenage there was the weekly is sue of Enid Blyton’s ‘Sunny Sto ries’, graduating to ‘Dandy’ and ‘Champion’ comics, ‘Children’s Newspaper’, ‘Illustrated’ maga zine and ‘The Economist’. Penguin books, in distinctive or ange and white, published my favourite authors, including Or well, Hemingway, Camus, Moravia and others. There was al so the Saturday children’s mati nee at the local cinema and, later, the traditional jazz clubs. It seems inconceivable that young people today would regu larly spend a whole day on a draughty railway station, waiting for the arrival of each passenger or freight train in order to record the number of the locomotive. Further than that, I would cycle with a friend from Aylesbury to Oswestry or Doncaster, staying the nights at Youth Hostels, in or der to prowl the sheds where outofservice engines were stored. This was the pointless but thor oughly enjoyable pursuit of trainspotting. And it got us out and about. But would it be safe for 12yearolds to do that today? We had no television until I was 16. We met girls at the local dance not online and communicated with our friends facetoface whenever we met them. Most cars had no heaters; holi days abroad were an adventure for the privileged few. But life was exciting. And our future was not threatened by climate change.
Popular pursuits of a bygone age included stamp collecting and trainspotting.

WHETHER your dog is your best friend, or you can’t imagine your life without your kitty companion, keep ing people and their pets to gether can be an immense source of comfort, especially during times of crisis. With this in mind, Hu mane Society International and International Air Trans port Association have come together to compile a list of the ways people and their animals can have a safe and humane passage in situa tions of conflict or crisis. Most importantly, these con siderations ensure that peo ple and their pets can stay to gether whenever possible. The list includes things like having more flexibility around required documen tation. No matter how feisty your feline, it’s unlikely she’s planning the next heist! The collaborating associa tions also considered the risk and safety assessments around additional storage fa cilities. This ensures that if your pet does get put in the luggage hold of an aero plane, that the conditions will be appropriate and its life will not be put in danger. It is also important for air port communities to collabo rate with pet shipping com panies to ensure live animals’ safe passage. Inside there are many welcome touches from a sensibly laid out fascia with buttons so hurrah for a lack of over digitalisation that involves multiple menus for every minor task to a plethora of soft touch materials. It gives a quietly comfortable and high quali ty feel to the interior. Occu pants are afforded a com mendably lofty view from the multiadjustable front seats and excellent interior space makes for an airy feel despite the sombre tones of the test car’s interior. At not far short of €47k/£40k my top line CX5 is perilously close to premi um machinery like BMW and Audi SUV models, but it more than holds its own against these premium Ger manTherivals.decision hinges on whether you value a badge more than a greater per ceived presence, and ar guably a more honed driv ing experience. I think the smart money might well head east.
MAZDA has always been a clever, more discerning choice of car no matter which model you opt for from the sales brochure. The rise of SUVs has also seen changes in Mazda’s line up with a third of the model lineup now being SUVs.Inaddition to the usual petrol and diesel combus tion engines there is allelectric power along with plugin and mild hybrid op tions. The CX5 is Mazda’s medium sized SUV that while only a fiveseater feels very spacious inside and handles much more crisply than you would ex pect of an SUV. Prices start at €34,572/ £29,245 and even the leadin model offers a good stan dard specification. Engine choices are 2.0litre and 2.5litre petrol, 2.2litre diesel in two power outputs and unusually all the engine choices are naturally aspi rated ie no turbochargers. Added to the engine choices are options for manual or automatic gears and two or fourwheeldrive. My test model was a higher trim GT Sport model with 2.5litre petrol power, automatic gears and allwheeldrive. One thing that has always set Mazda apart is the excellent build quality and although the CX5 it doesn’t carry a premium badge it has a very premi um drive. On the road the CX5 handles better than you might expect for an SUV and the steering makes for a surprisingly precise drive. The 2.5litre engine in the test model performs well enough but doesn’t have the urge of a turbocharged unit so requires a slightly different style of driving. It’s a nice pairing with the sixspeed automatic gearbox though with responsive changes that make light work of busy journeys.

AS reported on Thursday, August 11, Frieze and BMW continue their longterm partnership with the major art initiative BMW Open Work by Frieze. Los Angelesbased artist Nikita Gale will present the immersive installa tion ‘63/22’ in the BMW Lounge at Frieze London in October 2022. Drawing inspiration from BMW engineering and curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini, this commission brings together art, technology, and design, in a pioneering multiplat formInvestigatingformat. the history and poli tics of sound and its surroundings, Nikita Gale’s practice questions themes of invisibility and audibility recasting the dynamic between per former and spectator. Within the work, notions of witnessing, visibility, and representation are subverted andThedestabilised.technologies of sound and speed have been closely associated since the 1960s. In fact, the Gibson Firebird, one of the most popular electric guitars, was designed by car designer Ray Dietrich and introduced to the general public in 1963. Gale’s project ‘63/22’ explores the relationship between these tech nologies and unfolds how they have culturally influenced one another through design. As part of the BMW Open Work 2022 commission, the artist will create a sculptural installa tion comprising a series of electric guitars imagined in collaboration with BMW i7 designers and activated by live performances in the space. In addition, the artist will invite the BMW i7 designers to sketch utopian, functional, and dysfunctional guitar bodies, these sketches would pro vide the starting point for the cre ation of sculptural guitars, a mixture between a functional object and a sculpture.

AC Benahavis 50s and 60s whose ground is in the process of an upgrade, and have been very active in recruitment this closed season of both Spanish players and a woman called Carey, take on Malaga 50s and 60s in a double header this week at El Cañadon, Mijas Cos ta.It will be the first time that each club will have pitted their wits against each other in the new age group system. During this game a sug gestion by the referees committee to give a penal ty if a team runs five times, will be trialled. This is seen by them as a positive way to cut some of the running out of the sport. For all walking football news visit walkingfooty.com on Face book. Viñuela have their mojo back!

WITH this exceptionally hot August edging towards its end, most clubs are now returning to presea son training, in what we all hope are cooler tempera tures. Many clubs haven’t stopped! Last week, Aston Viñuela league champions 2021, who are currently rebuilding their squad, took on league new boys, Malaga El Cañadon. In a tight game the Lake sides came out worthy winners in a 20 victory, with goals from recent signing from Malaga WFC, Jose and player manager SteveTheGeorge.walkingfooty.com leagues this year will be bigger than before, and contain new clubs. Most clubs now have players who are Spanish speakers, and this is en hancing both the clubs and the leagues. It also gives the Englishspeaking guys who may be new here, or simply want to improve their Spanish the opportu nity to do so.
