Even the monarch went undercover sometimes…

EURO WEEKLY NEWS’ readers have been getting in touch with their touching memories of the Queen and her incredi ble 70year reign.

Here the Euro Weekly News has put together a tribute to commemorate the Queen and her glorious reign.

Moore on Facebook re calls: “First real memory of the Queen was the 1977 Silver Ju bilee, yet she’s been a large part of my (and most people’s) lives. Taught us decency, strength, honour and a work ethic second to none. Truly a momentous loss to not just the UK and the Commonwealth, but the world as a whole and I think that in the decades to come that this day will be regarded as the day the world became a darker and more insular world. The Queen united large parts of the world and defied all her critics and without that ‘glue’ holding and uniting us, I fear for the future . RIP Queen Elizabeth the Sec ond and Long Live the King!”

THE Queen’s funeral will be held on Monday, September 19. The public will not be able to attend but it will be broadcast on television. Here is the schedule for the day: When is the funeral?

It is also expected that it will be aired across other major news channels, such as ITV and Sky News.

What time will the funeral be shown on TV?

He added: “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has undoubtedly witnessed, written and shaped many of the most relevant chapters in the history of our world during the last seven decades.“Hersense of duty, commitment and a whole life devoted to serving the people of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland set an example for all of us and will remain as a sold and valuable legacy for future generations.”

On Thursday, September 8, Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral at the age of 96. Reigning for 70 years she was the UK’s longestserving monarch and was respected, loved and known throughout the world for her selfless service and dedication.

Did you know…

On a recent lowkey trip to Scotland, the Queen met some American tourists while walking. When the tourists asked if she lived locally, she mentioned that she had a house near by, and when asked if she’d ever met the Queen she simply pointed at her security guard and said, “No, but he has!”

As the late Queen will have a state funeral, the service will be broadcast on BBC One, BBC News and will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

KING CHARLES is the late Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son of four chil dren, and father to William, Prince of Wales, and Harry, Duke of Sus sex.He was born at Buckingham Palace, London on November 14, 1948, making him 73 years old now. He attended schools in London, Hamp shire and Scotland before carrying out a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge.

After completing his studies, Charles served his country in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy between the years 1971‐1976.

King Charles and Camilla were married in a civil ceremony in 2005, after dating previously in the early 70s.

Many EWN readers have expressed how Camilla’s subse quent accession is what the queen would have wanted. One commenter is Helen Winslade, who writes that “It was actu ally Her Majesty the Queen herself who stated it was her wish that Camilla become Queen Consort when Charles be comes King to thank Camilla for all her hard work and loyalty.”

AS Charles becomes king following the death of his beloved mother, his faithful wife of 17 years Camilla, will stand by his side as Queen Consort.

On Wednesday September 14, the King led the proces sion to Westminster Hall where the Queen’s body is to be laid for four days prior to her funeral so that the public can pay their respects.

Next, Charles led a procession of his mother’s coffin at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, where he also attended a prayer service at St Giles Cathedral, before re turning to the place for an audience with SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon.

Camilla reportedly has “a wicked sense of humour,” and is “great” to work for, so no doubt she’ll make an excellent Queen Consort alongside King Charles.

On Friday September 16, Charles and Camilla will visit Wales to receive another motion of con dolence at the Welsh parliament and at tend a service at Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff.

As King, already Charles and the Queen Consort have travelled to the Houses of Parliament to receive their condolences for the passing of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. This was the first visit on their national tour of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II.

Much like Queen Elizabeth reigned alongside her loving hus band Philip, Charles’ intention to work with his wife in order to serve the country was obvious in his first address, in which he declared that he will “count on the loving help of my darling wife Camilla.”

Following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on Thursday, September 8, 73‐year‐old Charles became the UK’s new monarch, heralding a new Carolean era. The new King had been heir apparent since the age of three, when his mother took to the throne in 1952. An ardent advocate for environmental protection during his time as the Prince of Wales, Charles III is now expected to take a more neutral stance in his new role as monarch.

Conjugal Partnership: Ger manic or Roman community of property?

Therefore, the contribution by one spouse will never become part of the private assets of the other spouse. The recipient of the contribution is the community of property, not the other individual.

That is to say: in these cases, there is no capital gain. On the one hand, because the spouse who makes the con tribution remains full owner of the property at all times. On the other hand, because the other spouse is not experiencing an in crease in his or her private assets, since the donation is made to the partnership, and not to him or her. Finally, as we have indicated previously, the community of property does not have the sta tus of taxpayer.

3. Conjugal partnerships do not have the status of taxpayers in the General Tax Law.

In the Roman community, also known as ‘community by quo tas’, the common thing is divided into as many parts as there are commoners. Each one is assigned a quota (5 per cent, 10 per cent, etc) and according to this partici pation, he or she will exercise his or her rights, contribute to the ex penses, etc. On the other hand, the conception of the Germanic community is radically different. It is a community with a vocation of stability and permanence. With a

To fully understand the ruling, it is convenient to begin making a basic distinction between the types of existing communities: Roman and Germanic.

Although this sentence is very beneficial for the taxpayer, sever al doubts arise: What happens with the Personal Income Tax (IRPF)? What about the Munici pal Plusvalía (IIVTNU)? What tax es will I have to face if I want to make a free contribution to the community of property? In to day’s article we analyse the Supreme Court ruling and an swer these questions in detail.

Until recently, the General Di rectorate of Taxes considered contributions to the community of property were taxable. When the contribution was free of charge, it was subject to ID. When it was onerous, to the ITP‐AJD. What does the Supreme Court ruling establish in this respect? Af ter a detailed analysis of the legal characteristics of the community of property, it concludes that these contributions are not tax able for several reasons:

THE Supreme Court has ruled on one of the most common opera tions between spouses: the free contributions of assets to the community of property or conju gal partnership. The sentence confirms that these contributions are not taxable neither in the Do nations Tax (ID) nor in the Trans fer Tax and Stamp Duty (ITP‐AJD).

NEW chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng has told the Bank of England governor on Wednesday, September 7 he wants to reaffirm the bank’s independence. He said: “Independence is a cor nerstone of how we see managing the economy.”

Driving the slowdown is the rising cost of living fuelled by spiralling energy and food costs, whilst business is also being hit by supply and staff shortages and the rising cost of raw Preliminarymaterials.figures for July show inflation above 10 per cent and growth barely 0.2 per cent, half original forecasts.

Inflation is at record levels in Eu rope and the hike represents the largest ever by the ECB, bringing to an end the so‐called zero interest rate policy that the bloc had followed more nearly 11 years.

Rising interest rates are good news for savers, with deposit rates having sat at zero for around a decade. The rise will, it is hoped, result in more people saving and less people bor rowing. Many economists still believe that slowing down spending and increas ing saving will go a long way in slow ing down the rate of inflation. How ever it remains to be seen whether the current hike proves that theory or whether it pushes the bloc into re cession, with much of the inflation across all sectors due to the crisis in Ukraine and the steep rise in energy costs.

The Bank of England has said the country will be in recession by year‐end, although the effects of the Queen’s death and Prime Minis ter Liz Truss’ energy cap are still unclear.

term, including imported inflation as a result of the low value of the Euro.

Royal Mail workers were due to begin a 48‐hour strike on Friday September 9, but was cancelled at the last minute according to the General Secretary of the Communication Workers Union, Dave Ward.

The move announced on Septem ber 8 was expected, although some experts thought the increase might be lower as the Commission moves to halt the rise in energy prices.

WELL, our wonderful Queen has now passed on. If there is a dwelling for departed souls let’s hope that the magnificent existence, we all wit nessed in her now lamented manifes tation, is somehow rewarded in the continuation of Her Majesty’s tran scendent journey of the future. Personally, my age means that I re call her Coronation fairly well. Of course, we had very few televisions and at 13 years of age, school books were rather more prevalent than newspapers.Asapupil however, I do recollect being taught a song entitled ‘Let’s all be good Elizabethans’, a refrain which I do still remember, and also receiving a book on the Coronation (which I even now have in my posses sion). This of course means that I have witnessed her complete reign of 70 years, and although some of my early days were lived through a World War and saw the resignation of one monarch and the crowning of her father King George VI, it is she who has been the most prevalent in my lifetime, and I will miss her.

The Scottish Longcase clock by William Young.

We still have this (lucky) clock, saved from the brink of a skip. In our care its future is secure for now. Our ancestors were horologists in the Lancashire town of Prescot, which, in the 1800s, was renowned internationally for mak ing the finest pocket watches money could buy at the time. Visitors can to this day see examples of watchmakers’ cottages that preceded the mass manu facturing that later took place in the Lancashire Watch Company.

The scene on the dial represents the words of this folk song. The wife is busy making sausages, the door is open, and the robbers are eating the food. One robber wields a knife, and proposes to shave off the man’s beard. The wife was so stubborn that she was about to be molested but refused to speak for fear of losing the pact with her husband. So, with the WASPI women still receiving no compensa tion from the lack of advance notice of the increase in pen sion age from the Department and Works and Pensions as confirmed by the Ombudsman and now the threat of no triple lock safety, it rather looks as if the so-called levellingup policy is going to miss a significant percentage of the population.

We have been proven right by the way the two successive Zimbabwean governments since 1981 have destroyed practically everything by milking the system financially, putting unqualified relatives and friends in places of high office and ‘switching off’ the infrastructure that maintained hospitals, schools, transport, power, wa ter etc. The current president, the ‘Crocodile’ Manangagwa, like Mugabe, goes nowhere without armed guards and takes expensive flights.
