I have lived in Spain for nearly 15 years and tend to spend most of my time between Marbella and Gibraltar since moving two years ago from Ali cante. It is safe to say that I saw more of Spain as a tourist from the UK than I do now as a resident, so this weekend I set off to become an incidental tourist of one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

I LOVE a good cathedral as much as the next sweaty tourist. Show me an am phitheatre and I am on cloud nine. Af ter a spectacular breakfast at Nellie Gs here in Benavista, armed only with a mobile phone and a sense of optimism, I set off for Ronda. Beautiful, full of charm and history and the most in credible vistas (what on earth pos sessed those ancient folk to build an aqueduct in a gorge a billion miles deep? Breathtaking views but good ness imagine forgetting your spanner). It was a very humid day so the going was tough. Tourists in Ronda work for their vistas as did the poor sods who built the Tajo.

As my return to work looms above my head like a dis approving matriarch, probably closer to home, Benahavis, the Roman spa in Guadalmina perhaps? Spain’s more Gothic places of worship, it’s constructed of two different coloured stone and nestles like a fat al bino toad on the edge of the coast. In terior wise it is surprisingly and disap pointingly bland (sorry!).

The cost of treating arthritis in dogs depends on all of these variables, and the dog too. Treating arthritis in larger dogs is more expensive than for smaller ones. OSTEOARTHRITIS (OA) is one of the most common health conditions faced by dogs. However, It is a condition that can not be cured or reversed, and can present in different ways with varying degrees of severity.

It also reduces unwanted behaviour such as barking when left outside and scratching on doors.

The guide dog project is be ing developed in partnership with the University of Alicante (UA). They have now devel oped a system so that the cam eras are able to read the visual signals of traffic lights identify ing if they are red, amber or green.

It also identifies pedestrian crossings and other road signs, as well as a car approaching at high speed. “A blind person can indicate an address and the robot dog will take you to the site safely,” explained the own er of Bumerania Robotics.

The cost of treating arthritis in any given dog depends on which treatments are used, and also the needs of the dog it self. According to UK insurers, the cost of ongoing mainte nance and monitoring of the condition will range from a basic level of 50p a day per 10kg to intense support and monitoring of £23 a day per 10kg and in severe cases it can reach £3,000 per year. The need to medicate the dog daily for practically its entire life entails a high cost in addition to having potential side

Daily exercise outside of their cage also is a neces sity. Rabbits like to chew so lots of safe chew toys are advised.

The ultimate cost of treating arthritis in dogs therefore de pends in large part on what type of treatment is recommend ed. The most common and widely used OA treatments in dogs are: Painkillers, antiinflammatory medications, supple ments for the joints, weight managpment, physiotherapy and some cases surgery.

Elbow dysplasia and hip dysplasia are the main causes of OA in the elbow and hips, respectively. If diagnosed early, surgeries can be per formed that significantly improve the patient's quality of life.
