Town twinning triumph

ALGARROBO completed a series of exciting agreements with its twinned towns in Argentina, Angaco and San Martín on Monday, March 6, during a visit from town officials.

Authorities from Algarrobo have been visiting the Argentinian towns since Andalucia Day on Tuesday, February 28 when they were warmly welcomed with an emotional reception and celebration from the Argentinian Andalucian community. The visit and town twinning celebration is part of Algarrobo’s commemoration of their constitution.

During the visit, authorities from both countries have held a series of meetings on plans for their further collaboration. Plans focus on fostering cultural cooperation and encouraging young people to get involved in the partnership.

Algarrobo authorities made a series of visits during their trip, including to the Universidad de Cuyo, where they held a working meeting with the university Rector and his team to establish an agricultural deal, with olive oil and fruit produce as the focus of the exchange. Authorities also discussed creating an academic exchange with the Universidad de Malaga.

During the trip, authorities also planted a tree to commemorate the partnership.

The inclusion of the cave in the ‘Pathways of Prehistoric Art’ itinerary is an indication of the cave’s cultural and heritage significance.

Its unique rock formations and ancient paintings offer a glimpse into the life of our prehistoric ancestors.

Places for the workshop are limited, and interested participants must register ahead of the event at the Museo Morisco.
