FUENGIROLA has confirmed the new project of ‘Sports Mountain’ which comes with a whopping budget of €5.5 million.

It will have three large areas with different sports facilities, shaded areas, as well as a car park with a capacity for 56 vehicles.

The planning takes advantage of the 27,000 square metres of space in this area, which will become the large recreational area of Los Pacos and the eastern part of the city.

The mayor, Ana Mula, confirmed: “The project is tremendously exciting.

“The people of Fuengirola, and especially those who live in Los Pacos, are going to have a large park where they can have fun and practise many sports.

“We continue working to provide the city with more and better green areas.”

The mayor added: “There will also be multipurpose courts, a climbing wall, callisthenics equipment, children’s attractions and biohealth facilities.

“The designer has also extended the shaded and rest areas with vegetation and awnings, walking and leisure areas for families with small children, as well as picnic areas.”

This year our chosen charities are ARCH (The Andalucian Rescue Centre for Horses) and Alhmer (Support & Care for Alzheimer/Dementia patients) both of which are based in Alhaurin el Grande.

We have an upcoming event on Friday April 21 at Venta la Recta starting 8.00pm. It’s an evening with the talented singer Helen Rush who will be entertaining us with songs from the 60s and Motown ... and there may be a suprise guest singer joining her! Food, if required, is available to purchase direct from the Venta before the concert begins.

Everyone welcome to this vibrant evening and tickets are available from Papeleria Cristina in Alhaurin el Grande at a cost of €12. For table bookings please contact Cath on 627 293 609.
