Gibraltar takes flight
IN an exciting update for travellers looking to fly between Gibraltar and the UK this summer, British Airways have announced an impressive boost in services.
In an announcement made on Monday, April 3, the British flight giant said it will increase their London Heathrow service to Gibraltar on certain weekends throughout the season.
For the first time ever, there will be three flights from the Rock to Heathrow on the same day, which will take place on three Saturdays in April, two in May, two in June, two in July, four in August, five in September, and four in October.
Gibraltar’s Minister for Business and Tourism, Hon Vijay Daryanani, expressed his excitement and gratitude for this development. He explained “This is welcome news for overnight tourism, our hotels, and Gibraltar PLC on the whole. The airline industry is extremely challenging and competitive. I have been asking British Airways to increase flights as they have been busy on most days, so I am glad to see these extra flights materialise. I hope we can continue to convince the operators to increase capacity to Gibraltar in the future.”
The mayor of Mijas, Josele Gonzalez, reported on the work that Acosol is carrying out in different parts of the town, charged to the water canon, to the value of more than €1.8 million. Among them is the replacement of the Monteparaiso reservoir.
The mayor confirmed: “It is one of the oldest urbanisations in Calahonda and its residents have been demanding improvements for many years.
“Thanks to the good harmony that this town hall has with Acosol we have managed to unblock important projects in the last four years and among them is the renovation of the Monteparaiso tank for a more efficient one of 3,000 cubic metres.

The mayor added: “This tank was originally designed for a small urbanisation, with a capacity of 800 cubic metres, but this area is in full expansion and it is necessary to have a tank that guarantees the water supply.”
ESTEPONA’S town hall has now proudly confirmed that the fishing port has been beautified with a 420 square metre artistic mural.
With the work created by the artist, Curro Leyton, the Route of Artistic Murals now reaches a whopping 65 creations.
The new mural is a tribute to the town’s fishing roots and its seafarers.
For this reason, a very significant place has been chosen for its location, the Fishing Port, specifically the facades of the warehouses used by the fishermen to store their material.
In addition, it is located in front of a stretch of the coastal corridor, which links the Fishing Port with the Paseo Maritimo, making it a stop for people who use the coastal path.
The artist explained the theme of the work is a marineinspired sunset with the silhouette of the elements of its surroundings, such as the Punta Doncella lighthouse, a trawler entering the port, seagulls and people enjoying the sunset.
THE town hall of Estepona has confirmed that the coastal corridor project is entering its final stretch after linking more than 21 kilometres of coastline.

Shortly, one of the last remaining sections will be put out to tender, specifically, the one to be executed in the area around the Dos Hermanas stream.
The works on this new section will take four months to complete and will consist of the construction of a 220metrelong, fourmetrewide, printed concrete pedestrian path made of cobblestones, which will start at the access to the beach via Calle Dorada.
In addition, this section will
