The monologues will be performed by three of the club’s most talented actors, Beverley Stonehewer, Bobbye Aaron, and Hannah Murray.

The event is set to take place on two consecutive nights, Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20 at the Atalaya Golf and Country Club. The doors will open at 6.30pm, giving guests time to settle into their seats and find a refreshment before the show begins at 7pm sharp.

DEAR all, It is with sadness that I announce my decision to retire today from the Charity that I helped found 10 years ago. I have enjoyed it immensely but all good things come to an end. Recent decisions by the leadership have left me disappointed and disillusioned. A lone voice of sense is effectively no voice at all.

I had offered to continue providing quality Press and Publicity but this will be passed to an inexperienced committee member. I only found this out by reading a copy of the

Minutes of the last Committee meeting this afternoon.

My first reason is that I have battled health issues for half my life and now with my beautiful bride, Sally, my priorities have changed.

The next reason is that I cannot reconcile myself to the changed approach to doing business. We are a ‘people’organisation but unfortunately projects now prevail and tunnel vision is order of the day.

It may appear old fashioned but honesty and integrity underpin all my actions. It has served me well and I hope all the people I have met recognise that personal trait.

SIMPLY THRIVING GROUP have donated a pergola to the Mijas Town Hall environmental department. The donation is from the sale of the calendars produced to show appreciation of the work of the firefighters last August who tackled the huge fires in the Mijas hills.

Mijas will have a new bird watching point, located in the upper part of Alcornocal de la Roza del Aguado, in La Cala de Mijas. With this, it will add three areas identified for bird watching. Of these, one is located in the area of the mountains and the other on the coast. The refurbishment works are carried out by the Environment area, which has the collaboration of the association Simply Thriving Group.

My word is my bond . However those views clearly differ from others. I am proud of our successes and the difference we have brought about to the lives of many individuals. It’s all been worth it.

My personal thanks to all of you who have supported me over the years and especially to those who have become valued friends.

I look forward now to what the future holds.
