Rescue in the Mar Menor

THREE children and one adult were rescued near the ‘Isla de la Perdiguera’ in the Mar Menor when a strong wind sent their flotation device out to sea in the San Javier area on Thursday, April 13. They were located and rescued by the Los Alcázares emergency services after receiving a call from 112 reporting the situation. be a fine of €100 and a €500 to €1,000 fine if caught driving a PMV under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

They were rescued by the Localised Civil Protection Rescue Guard (Guardia Localizada de Salvamento de Protección Civil) and taken to Los Urrutias marina where they were checked and treated. All four were reported to be in good condition.

The San Javier Council commented that they felt the need to implement this decree as the Spanish government has not. How many other towns will follow suit?
