Health Centre Investment

ALHAMA DE MURCIA is due to receive approximately an investment of €3 million for the extension and refurbishment of its health centre. As part of this project, the City Council of Murcia will transfer a property to the town of Alhama de Murcia to help with the expansion of the health centre and the new Primary Care Emergency Service. This plan was announced on Thursday, April 13 by the spokesperson for the Regional Government Marcos Ortuño.

Tapas Route 2023

LA RUTA DE LA TAPA (Tapas Route) is running until Sunday April 23 in restaurants and gastro bars throughout the Region of Murcia. You have the opportunity to taste the creations, which will compete in the ‘Campeonato de Tapas y Pinchos’ (the tapa and pincho championships) in the Murcia and Alcantarilla region in 2023. The participating bars and restaurants are offering diners the tapa or pincho that will be part of the competition when you order a drink.

Lorca castle

THE new walkway around Lorca Castle is now open. It begins at Parque de las Mu‐jeres and ends at the San Lázaro viewpoint. The walk‐way is about nine kilometres long which blends into its natural environment and of‐fers spectacular views.

Michirones

HAVE you ever been given a bowl full of brown beans as a tapa? They are Murcian Michirones, a type of broad bean, usually cooked with bay leaf, ham or pancetta, and cayenne pepper. They’re one of the region’s most authentic dishes.

Green festival

THE International People in Green Festival is on in San Pe‐dro del Pinatar until April 23 at the Centre for Leisure and Emerging Arts. It is a festival promoting green sustainable living with shows, markets, and workshops. F
