Invisible radars
THE Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT, general traffic administration) will install new invisible traffic ‘velolasers’ radars in the Region of Murcia. The new invisible radars are only 50 centimetres and they weigh approximately three kilos and because of this can be installed practically anywhere. The new devices will have a fivehour autonomy and will be wirelessly connected to the DGT offices. If they lose connection they can continue to record information through the use of an external SD card.
The DGT released figures that show speeding is the cause of 50 per cent of accidents in Spain and this is the reason they felt the need to intensify surveillance.
The Region of Murcia has four invisible radars installed: one on the N301 Los Vientos towards Molina, another on the AP 7 at Los Alcázares towards Cartagena, one more on the Gran Vía la Manga in front of ‘Zoco’ store and another on the La Manga Gran Vía near the Poseidón Hotel according to the platform Social Drive on Google Maps.
