AFTER months without rainfall it finally came crashing down in the form of thunderstorms and in some areas hail. Heavy hailstorms hit the town of Lorca destroying the crops already damaged by the drought. The president of Murcia Fernando López

Miras visited several crops that were affected by the hail and after asked the central government to declare a disaster area ‘to allow our farmers to compensate for the losses suffered at the beginning of the season.’

Up to 50 litres of water fell per metre square in the region leaving streets and fields flooded destroying crops and causing traffic chaos in just a few minutes.

THE graphic design studio from Murcia, Rubio y Del Amo, has been chosen to design the logo and image for the brand of the Spanish Space Agency. The Spanish Space Agency will open its headquarters in Sevilla this month. The agency almost chose San Javier, but in the end opted for Sevilla. The Murcian design studio competed with approximately 100 other studios for the prestigious project with studios from all over the coun try also applying for it. Rubio y Del Amo was founded by current creative directors Guillermo Rubio and Julian Garnés in 2014 and have worked with brands such as Pepsi, Brugal, and the ThyssenBornemisza Nation al Museum. They updated their LinkedIn page saying they are putting the final touches to the brand of the Spanish Space Agency. They also commented that it was an honour for them to be working on such a project.
