Stepping up Zest fest
COIN is gearing up to host one of the most captivating gastronomic events of the year on Sunday, May 21. The 15th edition of the town’s Orange Festival, recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest returns, promising a citrusfilled celebration.
Coin boasts lush forests of cork oak and pine trees thanks to its location in the Guadalhorce Valley. However, it’s the town’s abundant citrus orchards, especially lemon and orange trees, that steal the show.
The annual Orange Festival commemorates the culmination of the orange harvest, a distinctive local variety of the citrus fruit. Throughout the day, both locals and visitors will indulge in numerous activities and de lightful tastings centered around this delightful orange.
The festival will come alive at vibrant locations throughout the town from 11am with a variety of stands and booths offering everything from local agriculture products to ceramics.
The highlight of the event will be the mouthwatering orange tastings. At 12pm, freshly squeezed orange juice will be served, followed by a delectable orange and cod salad at Plaza Alameda at 1pm, before a delicious soup featuring the fruit at 2.30pm.
