Population growth

THE foreign population is growing six times faster than the native population in Almeria.

According to data from the Office of National Statistics Institute (INE), during the first three months of the year, the province gained 2,040 inhabitants, of which 298 are Spaniards and 1,742 are foreigners.

In total, Almeria now has a population of 751,959 people. The province has 168,189 foreigners.

The Chinese community has experienced a significant increase, going from having only 547 citizens registered in the entire province of Almeria three decades ago, to 1,286 at present.
