ACCORDING to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Urban Agenda, the Region has become an increasingly attractive destination for nonresident foreigners seeking to invest in real estate. Surging ahead with 14 per cent of total property purchases, the region now ranks fifth in the country, following closely behind locations such as Alicante, Malaga, the Balearic Islands, and Tenerife.

With the exception of the pandemichit year of 2020, this percentage has shown a consistent upward trajectory, reflecting the growing appeal of the region among international buyers. In 2017, there were 2,883 recorded sales to non resident foreigners, a number that has steadily climbed to reach 3,565 in 2022, underscoring the region’s enduring allure in the real estate market.

This looks set to continue in the coming months according to data recorded by Idealista. They reported that the weight of searches by foreign buyers accounted for 18 per cent of those registered for homes in the region, exceeding the average for Spain as a whole 10. 6 per cent.
