Marvellous May
Anna Ellis MAY has turned out to be a great month for tourism in Almeria, as a total of 122,909 travellers visited the province in the fifth month of the year, a figure which is very close to the pre-pandemic numbers when 128,109 people travelled to Almeria.
Likewise, the figure is also better than that of April, as the percentage of people who visited the province increased by 21 per cent, and certainly much more encouraging than that of May 2022, when 118,825 travellers passed through Almeria, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE) on June 23.
Much better results are presented by travellers who have their residence in Spain since, compared to the same month of 2019, this type of visitor increased by 0.6 per cent, placing the figure at 91,498 travellers in May 2023 when in the year before the pandemic 90,987 travellers resident in Spain visited Almeria.

The increase is also positive compared to April of this year (+12.2 per cent) and the same month of the previous year (+1.1 per cent).
