Cultural Days Hiking fun
HIKING enthusiasts of Berja are invited to go on the Loma Pelada Los Escullos trail which is scheduled for Saturday, July 8.
The activity is free and registrations can be made online at the website of the Sports Department of the Provincial Council or in person at the Sports Pavilion in Berja.
The trail runs through the Natural Park of Cabo de GataNíjar, has a medium low difficulty and lasts approximately two hours and 30 minutes.
The departure time is 5.30pm from the Berja Bus Stop.
The route is an abrupt coastal strip, dominated by cliffs with small coves that are difficult to access.
The walk will head along a path that started as a road project that was never finished, with curious points such as an old Guardia Civil barracks and an abandoned bentonite quarry.
The Senderos 2023 Hiking Programme of the Provincial Council of Almeria consists of 17 open trails, the hiking programme began in March and will run until December.
