THE Cartagena Local Police successfully utilised a drone to crack down on the illegal possession and distribution of fireworks and gunpowder during the night of San Juan. The dedicated firefighters from the Cartagena City Council responded to a total of 66 incidents over an intense 11hour period.
The councillor for Public Safety, expressed satisfaction with the relatively calm night, considering it a rarity according to the city council’s security personnel. Llorca further disclosed that the police drone played a pivotal role in identifying an unauthorised firework distribution network, resulting in the seizure of a significant amount of prohibited pyrotechnic material.
The exact weight of the confiscated gunpowder remains undisclosed.
