African solidarity project

ALFAZ DEL PI Town Council and several local associations are collaborating with a summer school project in Ivory Coast.

The project takes place from June 29 to July 27 and is spearheaded by town hall social worker Llanos Picazo, one of five Spanish volunteers who will work in the African country this summer.

“This is a socioeducational and health project that will be developed in the towns of BouakeSakassou and KorhogoKoni and in cooperation with the Saint Camille Association,” explained Sra Picazo.

“We will be assisting and accompanying more than 250 children between the ages of two and 14. The intention is that they spend a summer of smiles, games, adventures, sport and education, and for this we need material to be able to carry out the different activities.”

Donations of material and money to purchase the necessary items, including food and medications, can be made through the Coempa, Memba, ACCU, Huellas de Mujer, Corazón Exprés and Voluntariado Social associations, or at the Oficina de Cooperación at Alfaz Town Hall from 9am to 2pm.
