Ladies At Lunch
ON Tuesday June 20, a group of 39 U3A Vall del Pop Ladies went to Restaurante La Piscina, in Parcent.

They gathered at 1pm for a lunch at 1.30pm. With the unseasonably cool weather they had experienced for their previous lunches, where they were indoors, they reported that it was a pleasant change to be sitting out under the canopy and trees of the restaurant, feeling the warmth of the sun and gentle breeze through the trees.
Birthday congratulations were given to Sally Ellis and Sandra Mansfield, who found out they celebrated their landmark 60th birthdays on the same day. All replete, those who were lucky enough, retreated to their swimming pools to cool off.
THE newest choir on the Costa Blanca is starting next month but it’s not the parents that get all the fun, this choir is for the kids! The New Calpe Junior Rock Choir will have its first rehearsal on Saturday July 1 and is open to all under the age of 18.
Rehearsals will take place at Marcia’s Dance Centre in Calpe from 1pm to 2pm.
A pleasant change to be sitting outside.
The Ladies at Lunch are taking a couple of months off and will resume their activities in September.

Calling all junior rockers
Members do not have to have any previous experience singing with a choir but do need to be prepared to have a good sing over the hour.
All nationalities will be welcome. The choir will sing all the great rock classics including music from Bon Jovi, Queen and Guns N’ Roses.
The choir’s musical director, John Oliver Edwards stated “This is an excellent opportunity for people to come and have a great time singing some great tunes and along the way learn a bit about singing.”
