The success of last year seemed to indicate the return of the big Alicante party in style, but what happened this year confirms that these data have nothing to do with a simple postpandemic sum mer period.
LA TRANSILICITANA is an incredibly popular, very competitive ultraendurance race that brings together the most enthusiastic trail runners to complete an unparalleled journey through Elche.
Amazingly although the event is not due to be held in the municipality until February of next year, when the registration opened for competitors on Saturday, June 24, all the spaces were taken within six hours.
This quick sellout represents a new record for the event.
For the 2024 race, 1,500 places were up for grabs which is 300 more than this year.
The city has registered an average of 1.5 million people daily according to city council sources, this success was more visible during the big day of the Bonfires on Saturday.
