Central Market

THE project of the future Central Market located in Elche’s Plaza de las Flores aims to incorporate a large gastronomic area for leisure and catering.

The objective is to continue with the process initiated by the previous municipal government to solve the problem as soon as possible, by modifying the current contract.

According to Elche’s new mayor, Pablo Ruz, the technical and administrative specifications offer the possibility of modifying the current contract and converting what was originally going to be a gastronomic market into a large leisure and restaurant space.

The work would start in the first quarter of 2024.

The project valued at €7m also includes the musealisation of the nearby Arab baths which are in the protection phase due to their location in the historic centre.
