THE average spending forecast by Valencian consumers for this summer is €1,028, 4 per cent less than in 2022, according to a study carried out by the Cetelem Observatory, which indicates that this figure is lower than the Spanish average of €1,174.
Some 30.3 per cent of Valencians surveyed intend to spend less on their holidays this summer, which is higher than last year’s figure of 17.8 per cent.
The highest percentage, however, is found among those who say they intend to spend the same amount as last year, with 41.3 per cent of the responses, which represents a decrease compared to 2022, when it was 50.5 per cent.
Of particular note is the decrease in those who say they intend to spend more, with 28.4 per cent compared to 31.8 per cent in 2022. This percentage is slightly higher than the Spanish average, where the percentage of those who say they intend to spend more is 25.5 per cent.
A total of 64.2 per cent of Valencians surveyed plan to go out to restaurants this summer.
