Unbridled success

CASA BARELLA in Mijas hosted a sensational event on Tuesday, June 27, all in support of local sanctuary, Donkey Dreamland. The event raised a staggering €1,100 thanks to donations from kind ­ hearted attendees.

Community spirit was all around as guests indulged in the mouthwatering tapas offered by the restaurant and greeted Paco, a charismatic donkey who is cared for by Donkey Dreamland.

Paco was the star of the show, walking down from the sanctuary with volunteers to the restaurant where he was treated to a delicious bucket of hay on arrival.

Guests were also in for a treat with the raffle, which was drawn by former international councillor, Bill Anderson. He was delighted to take part in the event, taking to Facebook to write ‘It was a terrific evening’.

The raffle offered incredible prizes donated by local businesses and sponsors including Legends Bar La Cala, Cala Bella Favells Home & Lifestyle, and HairMagic Calypso.

The amazing €1,100 raised at the event will go towards the care of the sanctuary’s donkeys, especially over the hot summer when costs for supplies like water rockets.
