Filled with colour

ALMERIA has been painted in colour with a total of eight murals calling for an end to gender violence.

The murals can be seen in Plaza 1 de Mayo, Plaza Santa Isabel, the access ramp and the Pescadería Sports Pavilion, two transformer stations in Calle Argentinita and in two other transformer stations in the Generalife Park.

The councillor for Family, Inclusion and Equality, Paola Laynez, explained that “these murals aim to make gender violence visible and contribute to eradicating a social scourge that unfortunately we continue to suffer today.”

Proverb Of The Week

The murals are the work of Almerian artist, Daniel Fernandez, who has been developing his artistic career since 1995 and as a professional since 2008.

He has participated in numerous competitions, contests, and international exhibitions of urban culture at an individual and associative level.

In addition, he has organised workshops and festivals throughout the province of Almeria, where a good part of his works can be found on multiple supports and installations, the main environment being the public space, the largest existing gallery, a gift and way of bringing art closer to all citizens.
