21 Remnants of Almeria

THE Espacio 2 Art Museum is now hosting the exhibition entitled: 21 Remnants of Almeria by the artist Restituto Lopez.

The councillor for Tourism Joaquin Perez de la Blanca, confirmed: “The exhibition alternates botanical themes treated analytically, landscape and daily reality expressed in interiors and still lives.”

The coordinator of the Perceval Room of the museum where the exhibition is on display, Alejandro Zamora, added: “The artist who, despite being from Alicante and living in Madrid, is a regular visitor to our province and has been since the 80s.

“The artist knows our landscape and our native flora well, which is the theme of this exhibition.”

The artist, Restituto Lopez, said: “I have been coming to Almeria in summer for more than 40 years and I have made hundreds of drawings of Almeria, especially its coast, and these drawings have been translated into engravings, some of them from 30 years ago as you can see in this museum space.

“Despite not being from Almería, I have to say that I feel very Almerian because I have been coming to this magnificent city for more than four decades.”

The exhibition is on display until Sunday July 23.
