Drops of support Champs check in
THE mayor of Benalmadena, Juan Antonio Lara welcomed kickboxing champions from Power Fighting Boxing and Kickboxing Club to the town hall on Monday, July 10 after their successful season.
Lara praised coach Jose Archidona for “instilling sport values in young people and giving them a competitive spirit.” He congratulated members on their achievements, winning important provincial, regional and national titles with international potential.
The mayor distinguished several team members including Yahya Touzani Abouri (the Andalucian, Spanish and Iberi an champion selected for the Iska World Cup) and Maria Sanchez Benitez (the Andalucian and Spanish champion selected for Iska Worlds).
The two Benalmadena fighters will head to the Iska World Cup in Munich next month.
Coach Archidona said the town hall reception was “emotional.”
He thanked officials for “moral support which helps members balance sport, competitions and studies.”
Lara pledged the council’s backing for the athletes. He gave the kickboxers a Benalmadena flag to take to the world championships.
FUENGIROLA’S Casa de la Cultura is set to host a blood drive from Tuesday, July 18 until Thursday, July 20, giving residents the chance to make a lifesaving contribution to their local community.
