A rare find

IN a heartwarming feat, environmental specialists in Torremolinos came to the rescue of a rare seabird, after it was discovered in distress on Monday, July 3.

The Common Guillemot is a bird which is on the brink of extinction and is rarely ever seen in the local region.

Beachgoers alerted the Local Police to the bird after spotting it on the coast near La Carihuela, who transferred it to the Environmental Department.

The bird was then taken to the Molino de Inca Botanical Garden facilities where after receiving treatment for dehydration, the bird made a remarkable recovery just 24 hours later.
