THE El Boquetillo neighbourhood in Fuengirola has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent weeks, thanks to a series of exceptional murals that have breathed new life into the area.

307,000 the local community but have also garnered recognition from Street Art Cities, a platform dedicated to promoting and documenting urban art worldwide. AUTHORITIES in Mijas are standing by the town’s taxi driver sector after Malaga Airport made a controversial decision to cut the number of taxis that can wait outside the airport.
AENA, the company managing Malaga Airport, recently decided to limit the number of prebooked taxi slots at the destination to just 15. The decision has been met with criticism, particularly from the Confederación de Taxis de la Costa del Sol, who described it as discriminatory.
Announcing Mijas Council’s support on Friday, July 7, the councillor for Transport in Mijas, Natalia Martínez, recognised the importance of taxis for the Costa del Sol’s tourism industry.

“The taxi industry plays a crucial role in our region, which is why we stand firmly behind the hardworking men and women who provide a valuable service to our community,” explained Martínez.
The Confederación de Taxis said that the limited slots fail to meet the demand for prebooked services, making it more difficult for taxi drivers to make a living, and harder for airport users to get a lift.
Taxi drivers and local authorities urge AENA to reconsider its decision in the light of the busy summer season.
