ONE Marbella penthouse has caught the attention of the prestigious global financial magazine, Forbes. Known for its expensive taste and expert analysis, Forbes magazine recognised this exclusive property as a symbol of pure luxury in a piece on Monday, July 10.
THE Andalucian regional government has issued a call to action, saying they will revitalise Marbella’s abandoned Virgen del Carmen Marina, which has suffered from years of neglect.
Despite being the only marina among the city’s four located in the heart of Marbella city centre and one of the main entertainment and tourist attractions, it has fallen behind the times.
“This marine site is showing its age and needs to be modernised to keep up with the evolving trends in boating. An eightmetre boat is now considered a mere toy in the marine world,” explained Rafael Merino, the Director General of the Andalucian Public Ports Agency. Members of the regional government visited the port with the mayor of Marbella, Ánge les Muñoz on Monday, July 10 to discuss the upgrades.
Muñoz shared Marbella’s desire to remain the owners of the marina, which is set to expire in 2026. She said that this is an opportunity to embark on a significant improvement project for the port.
If the government grants an extension, Marbella City Council would continue managing the marina until 2051.
