Anna Ellis CAN Mojacar win back the title it won in 2021?
Mojacar is set to join the Green Flags Sustainability initiative for another year.
More than 140 municipalities have joined in obtaining the Green Flags for Sustainability this year, a campaign launched by Ecovidrio, the company in charge of managing the recycling of glass container waste in Spain.
At the end of the summer, nine new green flags will be distributed throughout the national territory.
Two of them will be distributed in Andalucia.
Mojacar won the award in 2021, being in first position in the province of Almeria and in fifth place at the Andalucian level.

Thanks to all the recovered glass, the emission of 30,335 tons of CO2 was avoided which is equivalent to taking 14,000 cars off the road.
Floating Lines Bronze Medal
ALMERIA’S young athlete, Monica Gomez, has achieved the bronze medal in the Absolute Andalucian Championship
The 13 year old has won a title that values her perseverance in the discipline. Not only did Monica walk away with a bronze medal she also broke her personal best record with a jump of 1.63 metres.
For just a year and a half, Monica has been training in athletics under the orders of Antonio Zarauz, director of C.D Atletas de Almeria, who con firms that: “It has been an amazing 18 months.
“Not only has Monica become the best high jumper in the Andalucia under 16s category, she has become the third best in the autonomous community. She is also in third spot in the 2023 National Ranking of athletes.
“Born in 2009, Monica is the youngest of Andalucian athletes to reach a jump of 1.63 metres.”
Antonio added: “Her future is very promising since she is a very serious and constant athlete who loves to train.”
FLOATING LINES photographic exhibition by Gabriel Montes can be visited at the Guardias Viejas Castle in El Ejido until August 6.
The exhibition will be open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00am until 10.00pm.
The councillor for Culture, Elena Gomez, said: “Residents of and visitors to El Ejido come and enjoy this photography collection that takes us to different corners of our province.
“The combination of colours and the simplicity and harmony of the images
