Art exhibition
MORE than 40 colourful pieces made up the latest art exhibition by Anik Lagarrigue in Mojacar.
The exhibition which was free of charge at the Art Centre of La Fuente was open to the public until Saturday July 15.
Anika, born in France, has been in Spain for more than 30 years. The volcanic eruption in the Canary Islands took away her house and everything that had made up her life until then.
Her destiny subsequently brought her to Mojacar.
Anik’s work is done in acrylic, using a spatula as the main tool, and her artwork filled the entire exhibition hall with colour and life.
Attracted by the art of Morocco, Anik’s influence can be seen in her work that goes beyond the scenes and is reflected in other works made with buttons and beads from Arab clothing as well as in letters and messages of peace made on the skin of sheep.
The inauguration was a success and many of her works were sold on the first day.
