Hoisting the flags

THE beach of the Urbanisation of Roquetas de Mar has been the place chosen for the traditional hoisting of flags for the six beaches which have won awards.

There are eight blue flags, an international recognition, six for the beaches (Aguadulce, Bajadilla, Las Salinas, La Romanilla, Urbanization and Playa Serena), one for the Roquetas de Mar Marina and another for the Aula del Mar.

The Q for Quality and the S for Sustainability has also been received by six beach­ es, the same ones that have achieved the Blue Flag.

As regards the Ecoplayas, ISO 9001 and Turismo Roquetas flags, there are nine award­winning beaches: Aguadulce, Bajadilla, Las Salinas, La Romanilla, Urbanization, Ventilla, Los Bajos, Cerrillos and Playa Serena.

The mayor of Roquetas de Mar, Gabriel Amat, confirmed: “It is of great satisfaction to get all these flags and to have all the beaches recognised for their superb quality.”
