ROQUETAS DE MAR has proudly received the award for Best Coastal Destination at the 12th La Razon Tourism Awards.

This is an award that recognises “the work and effort of the town council and represents so much for the wellbeing and prosperity of Spain.”

The award was collected, on behalf of the mayor, Gabriel Amat, by the councillor for Tourism and Beaches,

Amalia Lopez.

During her speech, Amalia Lopez highlighted the importance of sun and beach tourism in Roquetas de Mar.

She pointed out that: “Roquetas de Mar has been working for many years to deseasonalise tourism.

“The municipality meets all the conditions for receiving visitors all year round: the climate, the gastronomy, the cultural and sports activities and, of course, its beaches.”

The councillor added: “The beaches of Roquetas de Mar have obtained all the awards that certify their quality and have services that are not found on other beaches in Andalucia, such as ostomy bagfriendly toilets.”
