Hybrid cars for Elche police
ELCHE Council has added 11 new hybrid police cars to its fleet of vehicles, the town hall announced on Thursday, July 20.
Councillors and the Local Police presented the cars at the Plaza de Baix. The 190horsepower Ford Kuga Titanium 2.5 FHEV cars will be incorporated into the patrol service throughout Elche.
With an approximate investment of €450,000, “they are equipped with the regulatory kit and different signaling elements, certified and approved for the development of police tasks so they meet all the requirements for the proper provision of the service,” explained the mayor of Elche, Carlos Gonzalez.

The 11 vehicles are part of the city’s effort to modernise the Local Police fleet, a renewal in which they will continue to invest, González said.
“These self recharging hybrid SUVs, in addition to influencing sustainability, reducing emissions and decarbonising the municipality, are a step forward in the continuous improvement of an essential public service and a decisive step in the working conditions of the Local Police officers,” concluded Gonzalez.
