The members of the group are mostly linked by family ties and acted in pairs, moving in groups of between six and 10 people. Upon arrival, it was the women who mainly approached elderly people or people with reduced mobility, and distracted them.
The women would offer hugs, sexual offers or ask questions, and then manage to steal the watches and jewellery the victims were wearing at that time. Meanwhile, the men remained waiting inside the vehicles to facilitate a quick escape.

Happy holidays
ALICANTE airport has once again become the gateway for ‘Holidays in Peace’ of more than 230 Saharawi refugee children, who this year will spend the summer with families from the Valencian Community, the Region of Murcia, and CastillaLa Mancha.
The Airport collaborates with the organising associations of this programme by ensuring their safety on arriving and returning flights.
The children from Tindouf, Algeria, arrived in the early hours of Sunday, July 16, on two flights operated by the airline Air Argelie, and will stay for the summer.
To ensure smooth running of their arrival, the airport implemented special procedures which included support staff and gathering the children into groups depending on which region they were travelling to.
The stay of these minors in Spanish homes during July and August allows them to spend the summer outside the harsh climatic conditions of the desert, learn about realities other than those they live in the Tindouf refugee camps, and have access to adequate food and medical checkups, according to reports from the different associations that manage the programmes.
