THE community in Fuengirola is now eligible to apply for the Andalcian Government’s energy grants to help cover last year’s surge in energy costs, according to an announcement made on Wednesday, July 19.
The grants were specifically designed to offset the increased prices of gas and electricity for small businesses and freelancers between February 1 and December 31, 2022.
The initiative, backed with €525 million from the European Regional Development Fund, aims to support small and mediumsized enterprises as well as selfemployed people affected by the energy price surge.
Anyone interested in receiving a grant can submit their applications online at the Ministry of Employment’s website until Saturday, September 30, with direct payments ranging from €300 to €2 million.
To receive a grant, applicants must show how the energy cost increase impacted their business during 2022. Further details about the scheme can be found on the Andalucian Government’s website, where applicants can also submit evidence: http://ayudasobrecosteener getico.es.
