MARBELLA’S Plaza de la Iglesia rang with music on Wednesday, July 26 evening during the launch of the ‘Concerts at the Wall’ event. The city band brought beautiful sounds to the city’s historic centre, playing crowd favourites under the stars.
Conductor José Almenara Nebot led the ensemble through classics from My Fair Lady, The Pink Panther and Grease, as well as hits by The Beatles. The uplifting show received excellent feedback from the audience in the packed square.
With the backdrop of the Iglesia de la Encarnación, Marbella’s concert series provides the perfect soundtrack to hot summer nights.
The next concert in the series is set to take place on Wednesday, August 9 in the same location. The concert will feature a range of traditional Spanish songs including ‘Cádiz’, ‘La Gracia de Dios’,and ‘Una noche en Granada’. Marbella’s city band has been making music for over 140 years! Founded in 1870, this ensemble is one of Spain’s oldest.
