DURING the second quarter of the year, Almeria accounted for 7.4 per cent of the total number of tourists visiting Andalusia, making it the fifth most visited province in the autonomous community.
Malaga was ahead, with 26.5 per cent of tourists, followed by Cadiz with 17.0 per cent and Seville with 16.1 per cent.
Granada also accounted for 11.9 per cent of tourists; Huelva, 10.4 per cent; Cordoba, 6.7 per cent; and Jaen, 4.1 per cent.

The number of tourists
THE first Open ITF Cabo de Gata beach tennis tournament which took place on August 5 and 6 was attended by almost 200 participants.

The event brought together players from all over the world. Tennis players visited Cabo de Gata from Spain, Brazil, France and Holland, among other countries.
Gerard Rodríguez who is a professional beach tennis player and is currently first in the Spanish ranking and ninth in the world ranking also joined in the fun.
Gerard confirmed: “I loved competing in Cabo de Gata. It is a place where I would come back to play every year.”

Cartography of Andalusia. During this period, of the tourists who visited Andalusia, 33.1 per cent were Andalusian, 30.2 per cent came from the rest of Spain, 27.9 per cent came from the EU (excluding Spain) and 8.8 per cent from the rest of the world.
