Charity cheque

FOUNDED more than 10 years ago, the Manilva Luisana Association exists to help local people with disabilities as well as those who are young or old and in need of some form of assistance.

They rely very much on donations from well wishers and support from the local council and on Monday August 7, members of the association met with Councillors for Tourism and Social Services, Dean Tyler Shelton and Gema Zotano, so that a cheque for €1,300 could be presented to President Ana Santos.

The money had been collected following a party held at the Plaza del Puerto de la and the Council extended its thanks to the performers and many sponsors who gave their services for the night.
