NEW Benalmadena Mayor Juan Antonio Lara, together with other members of the Council accepted an invitation to attend a title fight at the Holiday World Beach Club on the evening of Saturday August 5.

The main event saw a fight for the IBF World super lightweight title between Samuel Molina 'La Esencia', the current Spanish champion in that category and Dorian Maidana, an outstanding Argentine boxer, with victory going to the favourite from Malaga by TKO in the sixth round.

The evening, which attracted a large audience saw some exceptional matches between 14 top class boxers including several successful Spanish fighters as well others from Cuba and Sweden. After the event, the mayor congratulated the organisers on the quality of the presentation and the fact that several genuine headliners were attracted to take part.
