AS the evening of Friday August 11 reaches midnight and turns into Saturday, so the skies over Malaga City will be transformed by an incredible firework display to make the start of the ever popular Malaga Dair 2023.

It runs for seven days from August 12 to August 19 and the week of celebrations not only incorporate the national holiday of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary on August 15 but always ends on August 19 to celebrate the anniversary of the Reconquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs and its incorporation into the Crown of Castile.

Naturally, there is also a religious connection because of the Feast of the Assumption and the Malaga Fair is considered to be one of the largest and most inclusive in the country where very few events or get togethers are ever closed to the public.
