THE World Citizen Band is set to descend on Clarence Jazz Club in Torremolinos on Saturday, October 7 with their oneoff show, featuring music from their album, 'Antares'.
Formed in Berlin, the international ensemble brings together musicians from Israel, Argentina, Spain, Denmark and Costa Rica with the aim of uniting cultures through music.
Saxophonist Uri Gurvich, guitarist Ramiro Olaciregui, pianist Marcos Merino, bassist Kenneth Dahl Knud sen and drummer Rodolfo Zuniga create a joyful sound, blending musical influences from across the globe.
The group was originally formed by a chance meeting between Olaciregui and Knudsen in Berlin after both migrated in search of broadening their musical horizons. When asked to play at the Ecuador Jazz Festival, they decided to create World Citizen Band, a name reflecting the increasingly nomadic lives of jazz musicians today.
The musicians have all moved countries in search of a wider view and understanding of jazz's everchanging nature, making them true 'citizens of the world'.
World Citizen Band will bring their special mix of Latin rhythms, African grooves and cosmic jazz to the Costa del Sol for an unmissable night of world music. Doors open at 10pm, further details are available online: https://www.songkick.com/es/concerts/4111 9448 clarence jazz citizen club
