GREATER LANSING WELCOME TO

As a born and raised resident of the Greater Lansing area I take pride in welcoming you to your new home. I grew up in Mason and during my younger years, Lansing was not the desired area to live. Downtown didn’t have much to o“er and most residents stayed in their own towns to work and play. A lot has changed in the area over the last 20 years.

Lansing is home to the Lansing Lugnuts, the AAA baseball club that calls Cooley Law School Stadium home. Lansing is also home to the states only professional soccer team, Lansing Ignite who also call Cooley Law School Stadium home. As the capital city, we have a lot of state government happenings in Lansing which brings excitement to the Capitol lawn on a regular basis. But this area has a lot more to o“er, from a beautiful river trail, hunting and —shing opportunities, urban living, Michigan State University, and much more.

Moving can be an exciting time but also can be stressful. Our team has been working in the Greater Lansing area for over 6 years working with speci—c communities helping build community and friendship. Over the years we saw a need for a product that can help families moving into and around Greater Lansing get acclimated quickly and o“er options for reputable businesses to hire or visit. Insert BeLocal Greater Lansing. Our goal with BeLocal Greater Lansing is to provide needed information, perspective stories from locals, tips and hidden gems that you can only get from those who have lived in our city. All of our business sponsors have gone through a vetting process and most have been recommended to us as some of the very best in their industries.

I hope you have had a chance to settle into your new home, start a conversation with your neighbor or visit a local farmers market. I have found over the last 6 years that this city is very small. Everyone knows everyone, which is great. People truly care about others, Lansing has more non-profit organizations than I can count and the business community seems to always be stepping up to make a difference.

Welcome to your new home! I hope to run into you on the river trail, your new favorite BBQ joint or at the ballpark.
