HUIZHOU SHOPPING MALL Huizhou shopping mall is located in Huizhou, Guangdong, China, next to the beautiful west lake in this city. The concept is to create continuous terracing roof which provides nice views to the lake. In addition, those roof routes also offer accessibilities to all atriums, roof gardens and plaza. Thus, the mall could integrate lake viewing and shopping experience together for customers and become a new landmark by the lake.

FACADE CONSTRUCT PV This is a facade PV panels design project located at Zueblin Z3 facade, Stuttgart, Germany. This project is developing a set of modular PV panel system applied on existing building facade to achieve both performance and aesthetic goals simultaneously. URBAN SWIMMING Swimming Pool Design Location: San Francisco, California Period: Fall 2015 Instructor: Roddy Creedon Type: Integrated Studio/ Individual The swimming pool is located in Balboa Park in San Francisco. The concept is designing the swimming pool as a special space in the park rather than an isolated building in order to return more public space to this park and strengthen the connection between swimmers and park users at the same time.


Current situation of Balboa Park is full of different sports facilities. However it doesn’t have enough green area for surrounding communities to relax themselves.

The strategy is reshaping the topography in site area to produce a series of positive space for swimming facility, and leaving the roof as park landscape.

Building roof connects the ground becoming a link within the park, its accessibility makes the building a social monument rather than a sculptural one.

We treat open space as a collector for site to help design the entrance of site. There are two bay trail entrances, and an existing road. We decide to set up a pedestrian connection in the north side near the big open space.

Combined the new corridors and the primary road grid in our site, we refined the circulation and create a new road system.

This partial model shows the landscape drainage system in bayfront area. It has different typologies along the drainage. In this case, at the end of drainage is leisure area contains recreational buildings. The midpiece is the reserarch area mainly focuses on monitoring the water quality before the water merge into the bay. And the last piece is the neighborhood area which offers dwelling space for local resident.

CUTTRENT SITUATION There are kinds of different layers along the shore line, such as wetlands, mud flat, and open space.

150 CM SEA LEVEL INUNDATION The wetlands are almost disappeared, instead, it generates new mud flats on original wetlands which offers sea birds a new habitat.

STORM INUNDATION Water inundates the wetlands, and goes into the site. Landscape drainage system helps to drain out the accumulated water in the site. And the building at the end of road plays as a pier.
