Guests receive unique codes for keyless entry that last for the duration of their stay. The 3% Airbnb booking fee will see 75% go to the Niido resident, while the other 25% will subsidise local programming such as cooking lessons or art classes, some of which will be drawn from Airbnb Experiences. While some commentators have been critical of Niido’s scalability, the initiative is seen as a way of filling unused apartment buildings in cities such as Evanston, Illinois.
