POA by Eva Parrell is a line of ready-to-wear women’s wear based in Toronto,Canada. I decided to combine my love of fashion with my love of culture, travel and helping others around the globe. The line POA was inspired by my recent trip to Kenya where I lived and worked alongside Maasai women in rural southern Kenya. The name POA is a Swahili greeting similar to “im cool” which is the embodiment of this collection. It is the merging of cool city girl and social awareness. To me fashion design is more than just the creation of clothing and garments, it is a powerful platform to help and send love back into the world. The collection features traditional Maasai fabrics bought while in Kenya, along with leather, jersey and wool sourced in Canada. A critical and meaningful part of this collection is the beadwork.
