Time
D*Crash Course This could be a cool method to apply to painting. Give a certain time limit and just go after it. I could see it turning out some what like splatter paint.
Crash course was a really fun way to open up with class. I was a big fan of having to rush to make the gift that your partner wanted.
I think that having to rush to make the gift made you think quickly on what makes sense and how to go about it. i defiantly see how this could be used in the work place.
Dot/Line Project The understanding that I got from gestalt is that it is multiple objects that are usually black and white. These objects usually work off of each other and help define each other. Making a well-crafted object requires time no matter what your skill level. When going into a design job you need to be conscience of your work and time.
The dot/line project changed how I viewed the little details. I never realized how important the smallest details were until you got down to it.
This was very hard for me because I like to show the idea with some sort of illustration. What made the project difficult was that for each line you had to have the same number of dots. A few of the ideas were easier to represent

Stability I would have really liked to tweak this exercise by being able to go wild with the dots and the lines. I think that having that type of freedom would make It easier and give you other options on how to represent the idea.
Expressive Text
Hand lettering is more of a connection and has a meaning behind. When looking at digital print there is no character behind, but when you look at calligraphy you see the work that was put into the type and serious attention to detail. The wall of classroom I think would be a great place to create a piece. Students and teachers file in and out of classrooms everyday and never stop to look around.
My writing in general sucks; I look like a four year old trying to write. Hand lettering made me slow down and give detail to each letter. What really grabbed my attention was all of the different styles that could be represented. I think the bigger the better. The bigger I go the more people would notice my work and it would be easier to focus on the details.

Object Iterations I learned that picking the right object in motion is key. I went through a variety of objects until I found a couple that I liked and thought could work. I struggled with the contour line drawings of my object. I know that the contour lines are not going to look like I wanted but it really bothered me to include that type of work. I usually do not like collages but this time I really enjoyed using certain color and texts to make a representation of my object.
I found the curves tool very helpful. Playing with the curves of the object helped really define certain aspects of it. I was also a big fan on just being able to easily clean up the picture. Having that much time means that you got to create something great, something that would stand

Designer Presentation
The designer that I chose was Stephan Sagmeister. What really drew me to him was the way that he would use everyday objects to expressive himself.
I usually hate presenting to classes but I had no problem presenting my designer because it was fun to learn about and it was fun to show the class about him carving words into himself
Children’s Book I was surprised how helpful my partners were. They were also very interested on how the work was coming and very excited. Both partners were very easy to work with and really let me have complete freedom when designing the illustrations.
The most challenging part for me was figuring out the background for the frog book. I just could not pick one and it became a little frustrating since I was making each background.
I would also try and not be so indecisive. I would also like to try a different way of creating the illustrations. I would have like to try some sort of spray paint stencils.
I got inspiration from Eric Carle for the Felix book. I thought back and remembered reading his books as a kid and looking at the illustrations and thought how cool it looked.
Hi Im felix and im a frog!
There once was a dog named Spike, who lived in a very loving neighborhood because he had friends all around!
